When you said LSU isn't a proving ground. We have had more "less than elite" coaches than good ones. We won three championships since 1958. This would seem to indicate that not all of our coaches at LSU have been sabanesque. That's all I meant. These young kids who have been spoiled by our two more recent championships have a skewed sense of reality.

Sadly, this is nearly factual.

A stint as an interim coach. There is a completely different set of obligations, expectations and a completely different level of pressure that goes with being the permanent head coach.

He seems to have saved the recruiting class which is the most important thing to me at this point.

All this talk is premature. Hes still got to beat UF and A&M. I believe his support is contingent on that.

There really isn't a strong field of candidates this year.

Well our program is at a higher level of prestige than it's been since the late 50s/early 60s. I'm sorry that I have somewhat high expectations for a coach or at least expect us to TRY to pursue a higher level of coach. I'm in no way trying to disparage O. He's done a great job in the interim. But the fact is that his one stint as the permanent head man of a football team was a colossal failure. He may have improved and changed and learned from that but I don't want LSU to be where we find out if he has or not.

FUQ any tiger fan that wants to lose a game to further their silly azz agenda.
Even with Miles, I never hoped we lost. You people are pathetic. Lets win out, go the Sugar Bowl and kick arse, then worry about a HC.

I'd like to catch some of u fricktards IRL ad pound your azz.

I hear you. But there's a lot to be said about chemistry and fire. No guarantees are attached to Jimbo or Herman. Just because a coach has success at one place does not ensure he will have it at another. It's not our decision. But no matter what, I'm always a Tiger fan.

He has won everywhere he's been. His stint at Ole Miss was a bit comical, but he seems to have learned to one thing our ex coach just couldn't get his mind around. Delegating to the other coaches. Houston Nutt only won because for once Ole Miss had good players.

Do you realize we have not lost a committed player through the interim process? (Dylan did comit after Les was terminated, but he was 50/50 at best).

What more does the guy need to do to earn the job?

I am not one to root for my team to lose and I am not hoping for it now. Regardless of what transpires the rest of the season, I don't have any faith in the LSU administration to make even a decent hire regardless.

Let's all remember that this is the same group of idiots that allowed that fricking hard headed buffoon to keep his job again this season and ruin a potentially great season with loads of talent coming back.

Bottom line...LSU has a undeserving mindset and it plays into every decision made in Baton Rouge.

You had better hope so if this is the choice JA makes. Otherwise, he and O can get a volume discount on U-haul rentals.

Not be an abject failure in his only stint as the permanent head coach of a D-1 school? I really don't think it's all that much to ask

Any self professed LSU fan who would think along these lines is in all actuality no friend of LSU.

There is pretty much no scenario that I can think of that would cause me to root for LSU to lose at any point in time. That probably has a lot to do with the fact that I'm a fan of LSU. Water is wet.

I'd never root against LSU. Moreover, the outcome of the next two games should have no real bearing on the coaching search. O shouldn't be hired over more accomplished candidates even if he wins out. The real buffoons are the ones who will clamor for O based on two additional victories against mediocre opponents. Likely the same subset of irrational dolts who insisted that Miles would win another title.

O is putting up 40 points a game with a tight ends coach.

O's not scoring any points on anyone. He's said that he's not meddling. He's letting one of Miles' assistants coach the offense that Miles and Cam put into place.

That aside, statistically speaking, what are the rankings of the 3 best defenses the LSU offense has faced and what was LSU's output vs those defenses? If we've learned nothing else since Miles was fired, we should know that competition matters when evaluating offensive performance.

I'm not going to pull for LSU to lose when we have a shot to go to the Sugar Bowl.
