I know his name... it brings a negative energy to me when i say or use it... as much grief as Welter was getting this player should get 2x that...

How does Grimes not see this in film session? He is just not an SEC talent... never knew Trai Turner was that important in masking this dud(e)...

Was he making mental errors or getting beat physically? He calls out the blocking scheme doesn't he? Sure hope it wasn't mental.

I was watching Melvin jones most of the night to be honest

It was both... When he was uncovered on run downs and supposed to get the LB's on the 2nd level he didn't get their and made #45 (i think) look like Superman... On pass plays he kept letting defenders through the A Gaps and on one play got so physically beat he was spun around...
I saw another poster make the comment how can the person snapping the ball be the slowest one off the snap... And i agree with that completely...

Unfortunately our starting QB still can't complete passes regularly even with that time.

There was a nice pass to a freshman (MD) that was dropped.

All the Tigers are growing up.

For the time Jennings was given, he should have completed 70% of his throws. Jennings obviously does not scan the field well as many targets were open.

Unfortunately, they are open in college terms. When a WR has a step or tow, that's OPEN! You won't see many targets open like Dickson.

I'm very concerned that Jennings is no where near SEC caliber. It will be hard to run successfully on other top defenses. Gonna haveta throw a bit more....

Just because a guy gets time, doesn't mean somebody is open. A lot of time they are scanning the field, and seeing nothing open. In case you haven't noticed, our WRs have ran the wrong route several times. Plus, most of our routes are slow developing routes. A guy like Mett as a 5th year senior, would be able to make it work sometimes, but you are kidding yourself at the 70%.

Like I said in another thread, Dupre dropped a pass that hit him in the hands, and one of the other WRs ran the wrong route, those are mistakes on the receivers. Now I have seen guys like Quinn go all out for passes, but I have also seen him drop several in a game.

It all takes time to come together, but we pretty much look like we did in 2012 on offense. As a matter of fact, as a whole, we have more TDs and yards on less attempts 8 games in.

I don't feel like starting another thread so I'll just drop this off topic comment here.

I've noticed Jennings giving the refs an earful in several games now this season. I do NOT like that. Let the coaches fight your battle with the refs.

Cam has a lot of work to do with AJ,
He does not run through progression
He does not utilize the pocket
He does not have the feel for when he needs to tuck and run
He needs longer than 5 seconds

If he can just get a couple of these down he makes a giant step forward.

he has all day to throw and still can't find the open wr

Happens way to often. Seems he's waiting on ONE receiver to break open and ignoring secondary recievers who are open. Rather then hit the shorter route he holds the ball way to long.

Unfortunately our QB can't read defense and see the alternate receiver when the primary receiver is covered. He does not see the whole field and he holds the ball and gets sacked or 2 yards most if the time.

Most of the time? I didn't know that. What's the stats on that please?

He did make a nice dump off to Magee for a 3rd down conversion when others were covered.

I'm just impressed that Jennings actually threw a good screen pass. That was unexpected.

Need more of those in the playbook.

My main beef was with Porter.......I stated it objectively and got a private message from the admins. It was far from flaming and very disappointing they would take issue with it.
Porter was performing very poorly in the first half. He was playing flat-footed and whiffing on blitzes and stunts. He did get better in the second half.

Could not agree with you more. I'm not sure what is going on. From last year's play, I know he has game, but something is off this year. Watch the replay and JUST WATCH THE O-LINE. Center is suppose to be the captain. We need better play from the captain.

I was watching him also because he went to Kentucky and was saying how this would be a game he really wanted to do well in but he was horrible and has been inconsistent the whole season...

There was one play where he didn't block anyone and just ran around looking like he was lost. It was pathetic to watch

it's not seniority, it's probably because Porter/Pocic is more effective than Pocic/Hoko/Washington

this week will be interesting because Ole Miss does a lot of late shifts on the d-line

Pocic also struggled badly at center. He's much better at guard. Has nothing to do with seniority bullshite when they're starting Pocic over two seniors at guard.
