what is the big deal about the buyout? It basically it ensures him that he'll get his paltry contract money should he be fired, which is standard in just about any profitable sport

He wont get fired this year, so next year it will be $8.5mil and $6mil the year after. id be shocked if there were many SEC coaches with lower buyouts

Yeah, but he shouldn't be an SEC coach.

standard when hiring coaches with options. what was ed gonna do if we offered zero buyout? take all those other offers he wasn't getting?

Well let's say you're promoted to manager at your McDonalds and you have to hire your replacement. You have 3 resumes to choose from. The first 2 you interview turn you down. So you hire the last guy, who in his last stint at Taco Bell, burned the whole damn building to the ground. In your infinite wisdom, you go ahead and agree to pay this guy 3 years worth of salary should you have to fire him in the likely event he burns your McDonalds to the ground.

Does that answer your question or do I need to use pictures, crayons, and dolls?

Why would we want to do that? I would be happy if Guice only played one series.

well as it stands, your employees just screwed up the most orders of Big Macs ever, many employees have left to find other employment; leaving very little depth, and since he started your customers are threatening to quit frequenting your store. Regardless of whether or not he's worked at a McDonalds before, is that really someone you want to advance 3 years worth of pay to in order to "right the ship"?

because O had ZERO leverage with LSU - nobody was going to hire him. We could've paid him under $2M with a small buyout and he'd have jumped at that chance.

Instead, we needlessly tacked on another big buyout when we're already paying a big one to Miles.

It was just unnecessary and another example of Alleva's incompetence.

4.5? Thought it was closer to 3?

Just watched the press conference, looks and sounds like he been reading social media. Hope they turn it around :(

The guy is sitting on at least 12 million regardless of what he does. Hard to feel sorry for him considering that more than half tRant will make in a lifetime combined.
