In other news, Poche will tie Scott Schultz career wins record tomorrow (barring a rain-shortened outing)

Then I'm sure you've factored in that Poche pitching Friday means he could be used on Monday, as was the case last season.

No other way to put it. Pointless. LSU is a 9 run favorite tomorrow and we're throwing a #2 vs RPI 7,491

Gonna be funny when it rains and Poche pitches two innings all weekend.

We have found reason #1 to hate on post season PM.

The postseason will bring them out in droves too. People who started watching baseball during the SEC tourney will quickly run here to drop their knowledge.

I bashed Mainieri a few times during the season. I hate to start now because what they have accomplished lately is just amazing. I don't understand starting Poche against a 20-32 team that has an RPI of 260.

Poche may just go 2 innings regardless.

I'd think 5 just for the sake of the record

Unless the coaches agree before the game I guess

Based on the forecast, every pitcher for every team in every game will be at risk of this.

Its the safest move. If we don't throw him and somehow manage to lose then we are in a bad spot. Lets add to that the slight posibility of this tournament not even finishing. Wouldn't be good to be sitting in the losers bracket.

Naw, Mainieri is going to let him go 5 to be in line for the win... unless the weather fricks shite up.

Starting Poche against Texas Southern and with the weather forecast is dumb. No other way around it.

I think this is smart. Hopefully get to a big lead after 5 innings then go to the bullpen. Lange Saturday then Walker Sunday. IF necessary you can bring Poche in from the pen Monday for an inning or 2. Hopefully Walker will finish it out Sunday though. We finally have a reliable 3rd starter who just pitched a gem in the SEC tournament championship. Show him confidence by letting him pitch Sunday.
