The NCAA apparently wanted to give UNCW a better chance of winning, because they hate making money

Did a good job hiring Saban. Wasn't terrible but Alexander is immensely better.

Because the NCAA is giving what LSU wants. That's not fair to the other 15 schools that are hosting especially since two schools playing today WILL have to play on Friday.

That extra day of rest is beneficial to any of the schools playing today.

LSU and ULL were the 6th and 7th teams to move on. We don't exactly have a great case to get s-s-m. It sucks, but frick it. Just win.

With LSU and ULL both finishing early today and having the same amount of rest now I'm guessing they will have the Friday night Game 1.

I know Alleva is feeling the heat from the fanbase and trying to take that off him and throw it on the NCAA may come back to cost LSU. If this was done in private, being LSU, they will probably get a Saturday Game 1

The Fri-Sun and Sat-Mon slots are determined by what side of the bracket you are on with generally them putting the teams who have finished first with more rest a leg up on starting earlier.

With this being said and because every team is finishing by tonight it will be interesting to see what they decide late late tonight.

I think we will get a Saturday start because there are 6 regionals on our side of the bracket playing today, and only 4 on the other. I think because of that the 2/3/6/7 (us) side of the bracket will get a Saturday start and 1/4/5/8 (UCLA) side will get a friday start.

The NCAA already has the TV slots aligned, they'll release the site number and start times late tonight. Usually a few sites get leaked but officially it will be up by the morning.

Do we know yet, if it's a Saturday start, what time they likely will play? I feel like all games are in primetime but I could be wrong. For our Super last year vs. Ole Miss we had primetime games Sat-Mon.

I'm hoping it's not an afternoon start on Saturday because I'll be on my way to Destin for the week. Hopefully we can be in our beach house before first pitch.

We are going to get a shite slot because both teams are from louisiana and that limits the tv viewers

Who makes the call on which matchups get each of the eight time slot batches? Is it NCAA or ESPN?

Ncaa but espn definitely has a say in it. Espn pays the ncaa to show the games.

The only "true" western site from our side will be Fort Worth or College Station assuming one of the 1 seeds advance, it would be thought one of those gets a later draw with the other going to a "prime time" matchup.

Last year the Sat slots were
11am
12pm
3pm
6pm

LSU sets the record for fan attendance in baseball every year and it's not even close; Skip Bertman showed D1 coaches in college baseball how they could actually make their programs successful: just follow the formula that he developed. Part of that formula is respecting and catering to your fan base. The NCAA didn't help out LSU over the years it became a baseball powerhouse, as much as LSU helped them out by putting an exciting, fun product on the diamond.. The NCAA screwed up with their decision (&, they know it) and Alleva called them on it as he should. They can make it up by doing the right thing and giving us a Sat start.
