blunders!
The big thing I took from the Saints game as it affects LSU is that bringing the heat time and time again affects the QB and dicates how the game plays out. Yeah, the Vikings dominated offensively but the pressure kept coming and did affect the outcome of the game. On defense, Chavis and LSU need to start bringing the heat more to get back to being the LSU everyone wants them to be!

actually, i thought the saints defense played the type of game the lsu defense plays. bend but don't break style, zero sacks, other team keeps the ball more than you, create turnover's, you're always in the game to win it at the end.

The saints game last night was a mirror image of lsu this season. not so much of the saints this season. little offense, win the game on special teams, solid defense, and turnovers.

the saint have been lights out on offense this season with shaky special teams.

Please stop with the Vikings and LSU/Ole Miss comparisons. Did the Vikings run out of time and lose the game b/c Childress forgot to call a timeout for 16 seconds? NO. Did Childress call for a spike of the ball with one second left on the clock. NO. End of discussion

And yet the Vikings lost the game because the QB doesn't have it between the ears and/or the coach didn't coach him up enough.

How do you have 12 men on the field when you are in position to win the game?

How do you throw an interception when you can easily run for the yardage you need?

475 yard total offense
165 yard rushing
gave up 7 of 12 third down conversions
Viking fumble 6 damn times,

I cant believe that a comparison was made to the LSU d needing to play like that....that is EXACTLY how the LSU team plays....no pressure by the 4 man front, no run stoppers, DE running upfield giving up the backside to Peterson, zero QB sacks.

That WAS the LSU defense

Favre didn't even know how many yards they needed to get into field goal range.

He has no business playing QB.

If it's not EXACTLY THE SAME it's completely irrelevant. So if Childress just waited 14 seconds to call a timeout -- COMPLETELY DIFFERENT.

The biggest thing I took away from the game is how the NFL is fixed and the referees decided that game in overtime. I've followed the saints my whole life, and now after Katrina they've been one of the best teams in the NFL. I call b.s.

I'm happy they won, but not so happy in 'how'.

What? The Saints play agressive, try to knock the QB on his arse, try to strip the ball or int. just about every play. LSU is nowhere near that aggressive.

Or it could have something to do with, ya know...a coaching change and a QB change?

No right thinking coach should wear that atrocity.

To beat the great QBs you have to get pressure with just the front 4 if you play a 4-3 defense. We blitzed a lot last year and we got torched by the good SEC teams.
