But but #1 recruit...The way Hill was managed last year was near perfection, slow build up to the big games at the end of the season and your stud RB is fresh as a daisy.

The way Hill was managed early his freshman year is why we lost to Florida. Not playing him more against Clemson is also why we lost that game. Hill's first three starts, he ran for over 100 yards each go. Hill ran the ball 29 times against Bama in 2012, and if we complete one pass, or Miles doesn't fake FG 8 yards from the first down, game over. Hill ran the ball 13 times against Bama last year, and we weren't even close to beating them. Miles sits Hill early against Ole Miss for a fumble he recovered himself, Mett throws three interceptions, two into double coverage. We have to throw our way back to a respectable loss.

Both Florida and Iowa were top 10 defenses, Miles let Hill do his thing, and we ran through them. Let Fournette do his thing, and we'll be alright.

he will play in the first series

Why is that such a silly thought? If we go 3 and out he will not be in there, but he could easily find the field in the first series

I agree, but so was Hill. Les understands the value of fresh legs at the end of the season so I fully expect LF to be brought along slowly. I "suspect" that wont go over well here.

Nobody thought Hill would do what he did coming out of high school. We had Ford, Ware, Hilliard, Blue, and Magee. Four of them had over 300 rush yards the previous year, three over 500 yards, and two over 700 yards. Four of them also had at least 7 rushing TDs. Fresh legs would be Williams, not Fournette. Hilliard has regressed every year and is basically a fullback. Fournette and Magee will be the one two punch like Ware and Ford were.

How many fricking years will it take before you people learn that there is absolutely no way to predict what Leslie is going to do.

They have him getting 700 yards on the year or something.

Well that's not terrible. If we can get another 500-600 out of TM and another 400-500 out of KH I feel like that's very productive work from all three. Now next year it'll be different. He'll get the lion's share by a lot.

He needs to be eased into the rotation. I look for him to get his first touch mid-season and really start to contribute his sophomore year.

Eased into it? Wisconsin is COMPLETELY depleted on defense. After that, we play Sam Houston State, ULM, Miss State at home, and then New Mexico State. The guy can play immediately getting 15-16 carries.

I mean, I'm looking at something around Collins carries. 180-190 would be my guess.

RB1 - Magee
RB2 - LF
RB3 - Hilliard

And LF is the type of RB that Les likes. I see Magee being #1 early on, then when LF gets comfortable and the playbook down he becomes the guy and Magee goes back to a similar role last year but gets a few more touches.

We will be running the ball more this season that last as well. Our best unit is our OL. Inexperienced WRs and QBs. Loaded QB. Solid veteran RB with Magee and the best RB to come out of high school since AP.

Both Magee and LF are gonna get plenty of touches.

I don't think stating that LF will get carries in the first game is "predicting" anything. It's common sense.

I'm pretty sure Fournette is the type of RB every coach likes.

You know what I meant. Big, powerful, prototypical Les Miles RB.

Something to consider is who we play game 2 & 3. Fournette will probably run up some numbers along with getting some game experience. After that, we'll know how much he will do.

Found this today. Backs up everything that has been said about immediate playing time. Couldn't resist. “This summer’s going to be huge for [Fournette],” Wilson said. “He’ll come in and he’ll learn the system, he’ll work hard. I expect him to come in and do things in the weight room as well as from a conditioning standpoint to put himself in position to compete for a starting job. We have two quality backs here that have experience in Kenny Hilliard and Terrence Magee and we expect Leonard to compete with those guys. Nothing more, nothing less.”

The coaches didn't bring on LF for anything else other than to carry the rock early and often

How much he plays depends on his knowledge of play book, blitz pick-up, ball security..Thats it! No different than any other year. I think he'll be ready and play a lot, but it all hinges on those things.

If fournette is everything he looks to be he'll be the 1st real featured back LSU as had in a while. I mean a 25 to 30 carry a game back!
