Negative. Duplantis would have been running right & had to throw across his body . Remember, he's a lefty. And he has a pea shooter for an arm. The boneheaded play was that there WAS a throw to home not WHO threw it home

I also thought Duplantis was having trouble seeing the ball in the sun...at least that is what I thought I detected.

I think they show his mom too much. Be ok if she was HOT!!!
But I have a feeling one of our starting pitchers won't see the field this series. That's crazy in my book but I'm not a ball coach

Are you at the game or something? CPM said maybe 10 min later in his in game interview that he made the wrong decision and got greedy
He said he should not have tried to stretch him 4 innings when he only wanted him for 3.

Bringing him out for the 4th wasn't a bad idea. Leaving him in long enough to walk them loaded was

You should be ashamed for calling out Kramer Robertson. He has given his all.

As for the steal, it was a bad decision, but he likely would have been out on the Cole Freeman infield hut right after, he likely would have been a force out as there was someone as 2nd base

I didn't watch that.

But that wasn't what I was referring too. He should have pulled Reynolds a batter or two earlier. But the overall approach to this game was the right decision

Bone head play was not catching the ball, it was throwing home when he clearly had no chance. Ball should have been thrown to third in an effort to keep the runners from advancing. He should have understood that it was difficult at best to throw home when his momentum was taking him away from the plate. Other bone head play was the baserunning error. Need to play it safe when you are trailing on the scoeboard. The only way he should try to advance is if the ball went completely through the catcher. All of this is understanding situational baseball, especially when you are a senior and a leader on the field. Hope we can pull together to win the next two. We did it over the weekend.

some of you people are so full of shite I don't know how you can sit down...he was trying to get himself in scoring position, had a good jump; just an outstanding throw by the catcher...I too wonder how many hits you've ever had in any game, let alone CWS...if you or anyone else think this team could have even made it into the CWS without Robertson or CPM, you pretty well don't know what the hell you're talking about !!!

Yeah ok, I agree completely with all of that. Just thought he meant he committed an actual error.

That was Duplantis' ball.

But I'm fairly sure that was the "pitching decision " the OP was referring to no?

I don't know what game you were watching. He had a horrible jump. It wasn't even a jump. He was at a pause until he saw the catcher go down for it in the dirt right in front of him. Then he broke. Easy play for their catcher. Very poor decision by Goldy.

Nah, he had an awful jump. He had no momentum and he was flat footed after the secondary lead. You have to read that ball in the dirt from jump street or you just stay put.

Are you referring to the play that KR misread the ball in the dirt? That wasnt an outstanding throw. It was just a bad decision. It was fairly easy throw. You realize the former MLB players in the booth called him out on that as well. Did they get enough hits in their lives for you?
