Great video thanks
Remember when I was 7 my dad taking me to see Pete play at the cow palace. It was amazing to watch.
A few years later in 1974, I got see the only game I think Pete ever played in the Assembly Center. A Jazz vs. Hawks exhibition game. After the game a buddy and me hung outside the Jazz locker room, when Pete emerged we were the only two around. We talked for a few minutes as we got his autograph, then he told us we needed to get another autograph as he brought us into the locker room and introduced us to none other than Elgin Baylor, the Jazz coach that season. After that Pete introduced us to Jazz radio announcer and former NBA great Hot Rod Hundly. I was shell shocked from the moment I shook Pete's hand, and even more amazed as he introduced us to this cast of Basketball Legends.
RIP Pete and thanks for that memory

I saw Pete in college, & most of his games with the Jazz, so I think I am in a good position to state that he was the greatest basketball player of all time. No, he could not slam or 'sky' like Jordan- so what?? Do you think Michael could even begin to try & do some of Pete's passing? No chance! Not to mention, when Pete was on, his jumper could be unstoppable. For most of his Jazz career, he had to score at least 25-30 to give the Jazz a chance to win. Shame he couldn't have played with a better cast of players around him. I was lucky enough to be at the Jazz-Knicks game when Pete scored 68 pts. (should have been 72). Pete...

Pistol Pete! Just the greatest of all time. What else can you say. He was touched by God, and he showed it on the court. Never forget when I heard he died. I could not believe my ears. Felt like a family member died. We as LSU fans are very fortunate he was an LSU tiger, and he graced us with his incredible presence and talent.

cool thang is he went to LSU and partied his balls off

What was as amazing as his scoring was his passing. He was awesome. Just imagine the amount of points he would've put up in college if the 3-point line would have been in play and what his career points would've been if he could've played as a freshman.

Jrenton: well done. Good stuff man.

Keep in mind Pete performed his wizardry during a time when palming, or carrying the ball, was strictly prohibited. Half the cross over dribbles you see today would have been a turnover 30 years ago.

That 68 point game was amazing-half the time he was being double and triple teamed, and that was against a better than fair NBA team! I remember reading a book about him when I was a kid, and they said the lead Harlem Globetrotter of the time watched him play and exclaimed "he's one of us!"....
Pete...

I read where is sat down for a good portion of the 4th quarter during that game. When asked how many points he could have scored had he remained on the court, he nonchalantly said "oh I don't know around 90 I guess". The guy was amazing. Just ask Clyde Frazier who was gaurding him that night.

Thought that was Clyde Frazier, but video was a little too grainy to be sure. Wasn't he on the NBA's All-Defensive team forever? Pete just flat schooled him in that game.
