True, but things are a ltiile different now. An undefeated SEC champ WILL NOT be left out of the NC game and a 1-loss SEC champ will get in ahead on ALL other 1-loss teams and maybe a few undefeated teams.
Bottom line, regardless of the preseason rank, if LSU somehow finishes 12-0 or 11-1 and wins the SECCG (no matter how unlikely) they WILL play for the NC.
