Is it possible that we must admit ol' Les knows what he's doing?

Just more talent for him to waste.

I'm not exactly Mr. Sunshine, but that may be the #1 all-time statement on the Pessimeter Scale.

Yea I put zero stock into a ranking that has orgeron as the #11 recruiter in the SEC.

Let's hope Les knows what he's doing with the special teams. If special teams are similar to last year you can forget about winning the SEC west.

Maybe he just needs to send BVP to Coaching School.

no. special team coverage on ko's and punts got fixed last year. does peveto get credit for that?

the fact is us fans don't really know the story, but to deny that means once your mind was mind up there is no changing it. it appears that Miles isn't blaming Peveto for the crappy coverage for the first 7 games or so. why? while i'm sure you "know" the truth may be much different. I have heard on several occasions that Peveto was coaching the LB's. well, the LB's played very good.

I think now that Steele is gone and Aranda is our LB coach we'll see much improved ST play.

seeing how Coach Pev has a great relationship with the coaches in North Louisiana from his time at Northwestern State. Yes I know he had a lot to do with getting this kid. Recruiters spend only a little time with the recruit but the coaches at the school talk to them everyday.
Don't get me wrong Eddy O is a great coach, but it's not like he is taking 2 star kids and turning them into 1st rounders. He is coaching great talent. Eddy O isn't putting them in the league, they had the talent from day 1. If they went to Bama, Ole Miss, Texas, Iowa wherever the kid would have "get put" in the pros.

Peveto was the STC and LB coach every year he has been here expect 2008, when he was co-DC. But remember that year it was he and Doug Mallory. The defense wasn't very good but the offense gave up like 9 td's to the other team so I guess that's his fault too. He didn't even call the play that year Mallory did. The special teams was much better the last 5-6 games and LB's played good all year. During his time in BR he has beat Florida twice with fakes that he put in and called. The one in 07 Les was pissed he called it, but of course Les got over it real quick since it worked and won him his only title. If my memory is correct ST didn't lose LSU a game at any point in his tenure here. Getting BLOWN out by Bama, Ole Miss and Ark. had nothing to do with ST.

A high note for LSU fans, I watch and scout High School football for people I know in the college ranks. The two best players I saw were
1. Rashard Lawrence
2. Eric Monroe

I saw the Top 3 safeties play being Brandon Jones, Eric Monroe and Deontay Anderson. Monroe to me was by far the best. He can cover, plays a lot of man and can hit as well. I watched Jones play Carthage a smaller school and I wasn't impressed with his range at all. Anderson is very good as well to me a little to big in the leg to play safety. Looks to me he could move to LB or SS. Anyways, I'm a Florida State fan and you have two very very good players in Lawrence and Monroe. I know Anderson is higher on LSU's board than Jones and I totally agree with that.

GO NOLES!!!!!

Need a heavy hitter to replace Coach Wilson, though.

Maybe lure Carlton Buckels back home from Baylor.

His name caught my eye. I hadn't heard nor thought of him for 20+ years, and didn't know he was in coaching.

The other thing I found interesting is that Alabama, which anually kicks everybody's arse in recruiting, does not have a coach in the top 50.

Orgeron has 8 commits for an average of 93.7 and is 33rd. That's the highest number if commits and highest average I see. I don't get it.

What stuck with me is that Michigan has 3 of the top 10 recruiters.... Wow!

From what I can tell the points are based off of the recruits composite score compared to that schools player with the highest composite score. Just for simplicity, the top player gets 100% of his score, the 2nd best player gets 95%, 3rd best 90%, etc. (I'm making up the %, I don't feel like figuring it out based on the formula.) So if you're the lead recruiter on someone who has a low composite, they also only get a % of that low score. If the recruiter only got the top 2 players in a class they'd have a higher score than a recruiter who landed the 3-10 best in the class. It weights quality.
