I shared basically the same sentiments with a friend yesterday. Neither Lee nor Jefferson are great passers, and even if you give the throwing edge to Lee, J.J. Is stronger, bigger, tougher and can run which helps us in short yardage and goal line situations.

Never thought I'd agree with TigerLee but that poster fell on his head.

Nick Saban's defense will go after Lee on every play, as well as other SEC defenses.

Given your logic, Saban will start Sims vs LSU because he is a better runner/scrambler than McCarron. McCarron will be a sitting duck for Mingo and Montgomery.

No, neither one is great. But Lee is infinitely better than Jefferson as a passer.

I have a mutual friend/acquaintance with Lowery that I talked to while watching the game the other night. He was standing next to the truck when it all happened. I would be shocked if Jefferson ever takes another snap at LSU and absolutely floored if he returns before the season is over.

All the Atticus Finches of the rant are relying on the horrendously shitty videos and the irrelevant situation with the dumb whore, but he is absolutely guilty. It all hinges on whether they can get concrete evidence to support the numerous eyewitness testimonies.

I don't think we can win a nc with jl. he is too inconsistent and immobile. yes, he will have games where he plays better than the oregon games but he will also have average to poor games. we don't have a relief pitcher for him when he doesn't play well in a big sec game. WE NEED BOTH JJ AND JL.

jl is a sitting target in the pocket and i don't think he will stay healthy all year against sec defenses. in the nc year, we needed rp in the sec championship game, mf out injured. in the lm era, how many times has the first game starter played and started every game that year? probably 1 or 2.

JJ = 9-10 men in the box
JL = 7-8 men in the box
easier to run against less men.
we already have at least 3 great runners
JL can pass very well
JJ can't pass the potatoes without fukkin up
Just a matter of time b4 Mett anyway!

I agree with this, but do not see it happening with Mr. Jefferson at QB. Thus far, no reason to believe it happens with Mr. Lee. It is likely that the SEC has several defenses that are substantially better that that of Duckland. It follows that an effective passing game will be essential to winning the SEC.

For the past 3 years and up to now LSU passing game = great big bag of nothing.

All I have to say is that Ware and Ford are more than adequate to be in charge of toting the rock for LSU. For me, the question is simply "who do I trust more to throw it on 3rd and 8 and get the first down?"

To me, the answer is Lee.

Career passing stats at LSU

Jefferson. 58.3% 18 interceptions
Lee. 54.8%. 18 interceptions

How is Lee infinitely better?

No one puts 9-10 men in the box unless its near the goal line.

Hopefully he does well when he gets his chance.

I keep hearing the RBs thrown into this. Surely you guys understand that a mobile QB and a RB are not the same thing. It's an entirely different threat, and one that DCs in college seem to have a tough time with. I don't believe we need JJ to win the NC, but acting as though his legs aren't an assett is a bit silly.

Moving on, however, the more I think about where we are at this point, the more excited I get. So I'm going to bow out of this one and let the chips fall where they may. There is nothing that we can do to affect the QB situation one way or another. I would like for JJ to come back, but I highly doubt that that will happen this year, think we'll be okay without him, and will support every member of the team.

*That doesn't mean I won't offer an honest opinion about how I feel someone played in a particular game.

Yes there is an inherent difference between the running game that RB's provide and the running game that a mobile QB provides. My point is that no matter who our QB is, LSU is a running team first. Passing second.

LSU is (as a general rule of thumb) not going to be the team that throws it on first down and second down. LSU is going to be a team that throws it when they need to which, more often than not, is going to be third and long situations. It doesn't matter who is the QB, LSU will be put in third and long situations every game. From my observation of LSU football over the past couple of years, I just trust JL in a 3rd and 8 situation more than I trust JJ.

finney needs to go out to pasture. I'm sure Lee had some jitters at first, that was a big stage being the prime time game in Jerry's Palace against the #3 team.. He did a good job and will get better. Yes, it would be nice if he could run better, butwe are not fully dependent on him running. The recievers will catch more passes and the Tigers roll onward to victory.

Finney should STFU.

His comments about JJ leading us to an 11-2 record last year ignores the obvious.

Lee is perfectly capable of going 7 games without throwing for 100 yards or a TD and equally capable of occasionally throwing for 200 yards. Same as JJ last year.

If JJ returns fine, if not then so be it.
