I love the comments on the TP site:

I dont think we NEED Jefferson on the team or on the field. We NEED this off-field distraction to go away one way or the other. Does anyone remember a kid by the name of Ryan Periloux? He tried to pull this same stuff, thinking he was invincible, and Les dealt with him.
As far as Jefferson on the field goes, he does not have the brains to run the offense. He has the physical ability just not the mental ability. You can watch him when he drops back to pass. If his primary receiver is covered, he cannot go through his progression to find someone open. He immediately looks to run. Personally, I am not a fan of the running QB. I like the pocket passer.

Dude, the NOLA.Com commentators are a notoriously vile, ignorant, racist hateful bunch. That said, every once in a while its funny. If you ever want to feel better about yourself as a person read NOLA.Com comments and remind yourself that you didn't write any of the comments.

U guys better get ready when Jj cones bck to the team miles will start him , lee was ok , but he can't do what Jj does , don't mean Jj Is a great qb, but he is better then jl, Yall better learn to deal with this ,
With all due respect to you 32 and JJ. All comparisons between JJ and JL are a completely moot point. JJ is tied up in the legal system now. JJ is all likelihood won't be back this season. We have JL, Mett, rivers etc. Crying over needing JJ is a waste of energy. We need to all move on and support the Tigers that are eligible to play.

Lee really didn't do that much on Saturday to separate himself from JJ. If JJ came back tomorrow Lee would likely be 2nd string again. But he won't and is likely done for the year and probably career. That said I dont think the outcome/score of the Oregon game would have been any different with JJ at QB.

Lee is our starter and I support him 100%. Any thoughts?
Just one question. When JJ was starter did you support him 100%? If your answer is yes, then you are a true Tiger fan and all is good. If not you are just like so many others on here with the double standard betwee Lee and JJ. And that is the cancer that exists in Tiger fandom. Even Oregon fans detected and diagnosed the cancer.

JJ and RP arent even in the same league when it comes to off the field issues. Saying JJ thinks he's "invincible" is just dumb

he does choose to run too quick sometimes....but this just isn't true

I know quite a few sports writers who never played a down and don't know crap.
As opposed to the majority of the posters here who have played years and years of football followed by decades of successful coaching?
You for instance.

He just wanted a little PR......me personally, I'd rather have ware/ford running the ball than JJ, and rather have lee throwing it than JJ...but heck, what do i know....seemed that concern of hurting our running game without jj didn't materialize saturday.....

Unfortunately...Slim is part of the latter

supporting, and thinking he should be playing are two different things. I support ALL lsu players and hope for the best for each. I have never been a jj supporter....primarily because I'd rather our highly talented running backs to run the ball, not jj....and lee throw the ball. I think there isn't any question who the coaches think throws better (see alabama game last year with game on the line)...but coaches think we need jj to run....I just don't think that is the case.....hopefully saturday night helped my argument that the running backs should run, and that they CAN run without JJ.

Yep...2 hundred yard rushers says our running game was just fine without jj. A good win for the team.

quote:Yes, I don't care who the starting QB is as long as we win. I do think that JL gives us more options to win and the defense has got to respect the passing game. That said, JL isn't the most polished QB, but he must remain mistake free to be successful. Remember when Alabama won the championship 2 years ago, they didn't have a great QB just a mistake free one.

JJ has had 3 years to shine. He has played 3 good games in 3 years. Get over it,JL is our qb so it is time to back him & hope we get to the NC.

Good post canton
Agree 100%
I didn't talk to first lsu fan in dallas this weekend that are still crying over the loss of jj the way 4 or 5 posters on this board are.
Trust me I tried to find some so I couldddebate this in person not on the internet.

you're talking about both Lee supporters and JJ supporters with the double standard reference, right?

agreed. i never really understood that theory. Sure...we would've had more total rushing yards with JJ but its not like he was going to run for 100 yards or something. With our o-line and Ware/Ford the running game will be fine.
Unless they're talking about redzone rushing...but Ware and Ford seem more than capable
