If we're going to have a universal policy to protect the identity of the accuser, why not reciprocate that policy for men unless or until there's a conviction? Especially for the acquaintance type allegations.

I don't personally know the player in question (and won't repeat his name here), just saw the TMZ article.
This guys reputation is now ruined. You can bet the first year he sees the field a commentator will bring this up every game. He'll get grilled about it at the NFL combine (if he makes it to that point) and yet more commentators will discuss it on national TV during the draft. If he's not an obvious 1st round guy, this episode will cost him a few rounds in the draft.
Careful where you put your dick college guys, even if you aren't a football player. A crazy attention whore can do damage to you that you'll never recover from. A slam piece just isn't worth it.
