FWIW, I welcome all anti-New England threads.

Up north the vehicle inspections are a lot more thorough, probably due to the salt on the roads in the winter time. They actually measure tread depth on tires, use a pry bar and check the Tie rods & ball joints, and measure your brake rotors. As well as a host of other things. When I first moved down to LA I had to get my vehicle inspected. I knew my ball joints were a little loose and that I needed some new control arms on my vehicle. Spent a day in the garage getting everything done then took it into the inspections station. I was really surprised at the inspection process because it basically entailed me paying them money and the mechanic scraping the sticker off and putting a new one on.

I don't know about La. but in Georgia we don't have vehicle inspections, we have emissions tests. All they are checking is whether the car is polluting outside of accepted levels.

As to the NE education statement, the real reason is that the NE wants more government control of everything anyone does.

The game or the players? How many LSU head coaches from the south have won National Championships?

I'm far more disappointed when I meet an LSU guy who I can't talk football with. What a waste. A guy from LSU accepted a similar job in the office where I was a student worker in Miami. It was when LSU opened the college football season against Mississippi State on Thursday night. I ducked into his office that Thursday and asked him what he was doing for the game, and he didn't even know there was a game that night.

While I lived in Connecticut I was impressed by the Yankee - Red Sox rivalry and the knowledge and devotion of fans.

Here in North Carolina, particularly the central and eastern parts of the state, people really know and follow ACC basketball.

On both occasions I became a more knowledgeable fan and observer of the regional sports.

I would cut the dude some slack. He knew jafarcus played at Lsu. That's not bad. College football isn't as big a deal up north, excluding Michigan, Ohio State, and Norte Dame. I think all those noon kickoffs and cold arse weather really buzz kill the gameday experience. Lsu fans take it for granted it's hot but that's better than freezing arse cold, and noon games are the norm up north. I have been going to packer games since I was 5 and there amazing but on a scale of 1 to 10 the best packer game is a 6 and a night game in death valley from an experience/energy standpoint is at least a 12 !

Your headline should read "do not know COLLEGE football". They know pro football and the game itself just as well as people anywhere else. With only 2 FBS teams (3 starting in 2012) in the entire six-state region, there just has never been decent media coverage to even add to the exposure.
