Is Hawkins even a lock to go?

This doesn't look too bad on paper at all.
Definitely not as stout as Hawkins, Clapp, Pocic, Teuhema, and Alexander.. but not a huge drop off.
Really pretty critical (in my opinion) that Pocic comes back.

I agree, and honestly improvement year to year we can't tell

Teuhema and Weatherby haven't even ever had a spring camp. So i look to see a huge improvement form them. Clapp seems like a better fit at C than G.

Pocic at LT is why i think we can get him to come back. If he plays well he gets Tackle money, and he shows he can play EVERY position on the line, Which is huge for teams.

If Beckwith leaves we are basically just screwed at LB for a year, it's jsut a fact. We'll be starting 2 freshmen probably.

I pump sunshine....and unless beckwith comes back...which is doubtful....we fricked at mlb. Ain't no tf gonna step in adequately at mlb. I'm still hopeful voorhies can play olb but I'm not even sure if he has played.

I may have missed it but I havent seen Voorhies on defense all season, may be on special teams though.

Riley is a for sure starter, after that, it's looking like a combination of 2 freshmen because I'm not sure Alexander is an every down LB.

which part is false? our starters in 2011 were baker, francois, and minter rotated with some scrub i cant even remember. i dont think i ever saw francois actually make a tackle and minter wasnt his 2012 self yet. the only decent LB we had was baker. fact.

Chavis tried playing hatcher at Mike linebacker. For being such a guru, he sucked.

If Beckwith doesn't get hurt in the 2014 Bama game, we win. When he was out on that one series, they immediately ran right up the gut, mowing Welter over each time.

Will be a very good OL. Hawkins might take a page from Collins and Alexander and come back for his senior year. If Hawkins returns this line will be very very good.

We had one of the best tackling MLBs that we've seen at LSU in over a decade.

Who? Minter? he was 5th on the team that year with 61 tackles. Baker was 4th with 64.

our top 3 tacklers that year were Reid, Mathieu, and Taylor. 3 DBs. LB play in 2011 was sub par.

Also the starting Dline combined for 206 tackles.

Minter split time with Hatcher.

It is sort of interesting i feel like from 2003-2008 basically our philosophy was get enormous DLinemen, and talented physical DBs, and the linebackers will be fine.

Doesnt mean Minter played like 80% of the snaps, they split time fairly well that year, I remember that much. Not exactly 50/50, but 60/40 Minter to Hatcher was probably about true.

you know you don't have to play the whole game. Hatcher had 24 tackles

He played a good amount

even t counting who ever we bring in in recruiting we will have

Duke Riley. Voohries,, Fiest, Donnie Alexander, and Michael Patterson (needs to get moved to LB asap, never going to be big enough for a SEC DE). So that is 5 SEC level LB's. No real stars there, but most of those guys could be starters for some team in the SEC (vandrbilt, Kentucky and maybe ole miss)

Since we really just need two of them to be really good as we should mainly line up with 5 DB's, we should be OK

Hopefully we get at least 3 really good recruits.
We already have 5: Divinity, Andre Anthony, Thornton, Folwer, and Travez Moore

So maybe we start one true freshman and one (whoever develops the most) returning LB

We going to be alright

Might need to pull a Juco LB or two to fill the gap until the newcomers are ready.

We should move Arden Key to OLB. Think about it. We will likely return Bower/Neal. Both guys will be seniors. Move Key to OLB and blitz him off the edge. Mingo had to turn into an OLB in the pros and he has the same body type. In the long run it helps out Arden Key. He wont be a defensive end at the Next level. Might as well move him to LB'r now and save him some growing pains. Would make our defense better. Having 3 seniors on the defensive line next season.

not a bad idea, but we are already super thin at DE as well. Maybe depends on how DE end recruiting goes.

If we get as many good DT's as we expect to (we are on the inside track on quite a few), I would like to move Godcheaux back to DE and get more size on the DL. He is going to be a DE in the pros as well. Godcheaux, Neal and Bower would be a stout DE crew.

Then at DT Lacouture, Gilmore, Herron, and the true freshman (Edwin Alexander and Glen Logan so far) plus maybe Lawrence and Gary.

You just created 5 SEC level LBs just like that, huh?
