It's a good post, and I agree with your assessment of Penn State from the two and a half games I have seen from the Nittany Lions. Both teams had big name running backs who had somewhat disappointing seasons (Royster and Scott), and the QBs have not played well against quality opposition.

That's why I think it will be a low-scoring game. For now, I am predicting 21-17 LSU.

My brother graduated from PSU. I am fan of both programs. Each program is very different, IMO. In essence, LSU is a lot of talent and subpar coaching. PSU is average talent and decent coaching. Should be a great match up. My whole family has been waiting for this for years.

I have seen it time and time again. Have thick skin your first 10+ posts and people will feel like they have initiated you and they will start to like you. Getting defensive is like the rookie fighting the vets, it will make it worse and you will leave upset. If you notice there are lots of posters from other schools here.

1. Thick Skin
2. Don't be a homer
3. Throwing in a "Bama Sucks" every now and then won't hurt either.

P.S. Welcome to the board

Actually you can be quite seriously.

Not a bad post. Really it comes down to which of both teams steps up. What I have noticed so far in the dead time before the build-up is that the Penn State team talks to the press alot. Almost every day there is another story about such-and-such Penn State player compliments some player on LSU's team. Enough with the compliments already. They don't mean it anyway. It is some kind of chess game to them, but really we don't play chess here. Hopefully, on January 1, we play ball.

very nice post and your right with the disappointment part. Both our fanbases want a meaningful win in conference bad.
My opinion on the game is that this will be the athletic team penn state has played all year. The side note to that it might also be one of the worst o lines and d lines penn state has played against too. Penn state will need to run the ball to be successful and make sure lsu can't get it out to the wide receivers in space.

If nothing else, it has to be the longest initial post, right? Dude did provide Ranters with some interesting info on Penn State.

PennState1995....thanks for your perspective. I truly like other "level-headed" fans giving their thoughts on our boards. Good luck in the CapOne Bowl and please excuse our rantards. C ya in Orlando.

Good post. There are alot of similarities between LSU & PSU. This is definitely a great match up of overrateds, as both teams started off unimpressive and then stumbled. Just like both fan bases figured I might add.
To me this game is a pick em. LSU always does great in bowl games but this is an exceptional year. I am very curious to see how we transition without a few assistant coaches at practice. Is Frank Wilson and Billy Gonzales on the sidelines pump us up more? Or Does McCarthy resigning and Porter Being a new HC cause major distraction? I think the answer will show majorly in this game.
Oh and Im happy to hear your dline is a weak spot, because our oline is poorly coached.
