He's not a bad coach, but unfortunately some LSU fans are now acting like Alabama fans. News flash...we're not going to win every game and we're not going to win every year! It's called sports! The 49ers, Steelers and the Cowboys dominated the NFL for many years and now they're not! It's sports! If you can't handle it, you might want to take up ballroom dancing or something else!!!!!

I am not one calling for his firing, but Coach continues to show that he makes bad decisions during a game. Not pinch running for the relatively slow DH in the 8th inning down by one run last night was just plain stupid.

There seem to be a ton of post calling for Mainieri to be fired.
You have to be a serious retard to suggest firing a guy with five postseason SEC tourney titles, three SEC titles, taken LSU to like six super regionals, four CWS trips, and a NC.
But, this is the rant where retards and trolls run wild.

Baseball is a funny game and unlike other sports, mid-season results mean little.
Here's what has to happen for CPMs seat to get hot.
1. 2 consecutive losing seasons and no NCAA berth.
2. Or 3 subpar seasons and no regional hosting.
3. We get a new AD who demands we be a top 16 team every year.

Imagine what the heat would be if we weren't a Top 10 team.

Didn't know that. Then by all means, he needs to go!

Manieri will retire - at his option- at LSU

Tell me how he's not a moron and how he's a good coach. What has he done to show he's a good coach?
He's been to the CWS 4 times in his tenure. No other coach exceeds that in the same time period. Did you read the number of SEC Tourney titles he has?
quote:
I'm sorry, I just don't fricking believe that. How many different teams have made it to Omaha in the past decade?
Surely you're not serious? Kent State, Stoney Brook, Coastal Carolina, Indiana, UC Santa Barbara, Southern Miss have all been to the CWS during Manieri's time here. Coastal won it all last year. Oh yeah, check out the winners of the CWS in the past 10 years.
quote:
How many of those years did we win the national championship? How many of those years that we didn't win it were we in the final game?
The only teams that have won multiple CWS in the past 15 or so years are South Carolina and Oregon State.

I'm sorry, I just don't see it, I see many guys on here that make more sense with baseball than what he does. There are at least five-ten times a game where I just wonder "what in the frick were we doing right there?" Just think how many brighter coaches are out there that could get this program where it needs to be.
See above. You can't possibly compare the people on this forum (who may have played or coached ball at some point) to a guy who has taken two different programs to a CWS, won once and has multiple SEC regular season and SEC Tourney Championships. That's beyond stupid.

Let's hope LSU goes for the trifecta and gets rid of PM after this season.

From LSUSports.net:

Mainieri has guided LSU to the nation's highest win total over the past nine seasons (432 wins) and over the past five seasons (249 wins).

We are a top 16 team every year... Even by postseason standards, we've been a top 16 team in 4 of the past 5 years. We entered the postseason as a top 8 team in each of the past 5 years. You could argue that we have had the best program over the past 5 seasons despite not winning a national title. We have definitely been the best out of the teams that haven't won one (including Florida and TCU)...

Alleva should have called Miles bluff to Arkansas, and how could the moron not learn from his mistakes and not call Mainieri's bluff to Texas?
I think you answered your own question. Alleva is and will always be a moron.

I do love the hindsight regarding the contract. Not very many people were up in arms about it when it was announced. But lose a couple games and now it was a huge mistake
Posted on 3/29/17 at 11:51 pm to Choupique19
As long as PM is the coach that is what you get. It's no longer expecting to win, it about hoping to win. ATM will wax our arse this week. The problem is PMs lazy over paid arse did not go get a hitting coach. You have a coach teaching something he was not very good at except to ground out or fly out. JavaII. Dunn has become complacent. This bull pen has not been reliable in several seasons. When the fans stop going to the games as they did with porky Lavall, PM will be gone.

Just out of curiosity, when is the correct time to melt?
LSU Baseball has certain standards that have to be met.
The Milesinieri snowball has already formed.
There's nothing all the Idolizers can do.
Their constant defense of sub-standard results on the field couldn't saves Miles and it will not save the baseball coach when the time comes for departure.
You can bet that Alleva will sure be late on pulling the plug though.................

You think Manieri was bluffing with Texas and an offer to double his salary? Austin as opposed to Baton Rouge? Paul feeling the lack of respect for what he has done. Let's not forget that Smoke had arse raped this program with his sloppy management.
When you think of morons, have a look in the mirror.
