Meh, Tony LaRussa said he was done for good a decade ago, and he's managing a first place ballclub right now. Bill Parcells retired multiple times over the years, and then he'd take another team to the playoffs.

the one thing we do not need is a new coach with less energy than PM. we need new blood, new energy... because we are losing many of the top recruiting battles. We must turn that around. And Dunn must depart the scene.

Sounds like we're doing someone a favor by giving him a look. He's obviously a very good coach, but the baggage he has with that pedo pitcher won't ever go away, much like Alleva/Duke/Lacrosse.
Tiger nation would go ballistic if Woody makes Casey the hire. I don't think Woody wants to deal with that crap.
