coaching staff doesn't trust jennings. mett didn't operate out of the I formation 80% of the game.

No doubt they lack trust. However, Mett was still under center a lot - it's the type of formations that Miles loves. He has never gone away from it.

Woah man, you mean we have talented receivers?

These concepts are taught to pee-wee QBs. Stop acting like you actually know football, and put down your "football formations for dummies" book.

I guarantee you 98% of the posters do not understand what lynx is saying.

And yet they spew hot fricking garbage on the Rant like they invented the modern day spread O.

So. In short, shut the frick up.

yep, but mett could sling the ball around and defenses had to respect it.

defenses don't respect jennings at all.

Don't take it out on lynx because you are confused.

The only thing I can add is that there are other times to run besides "safeties back"

Example, I form twins, with man coverage , the twins would be covered by both CB's (theoretical) in a cover 2 combo, cover 1 or cover 0 look.

If the safeties are playing mid formation or "CF", most likely the LB's will shade to cover the side that vacated the CB. If the safeties play up, any kind of misdirection will get the Lb's flowing and maybe get some space. At best, create an unbalanced numbers game to that side.

Edit: even if we have a run play dialed up, if our QB's can discern where it is coming from and run AWAY from the blitz, it creates unbalance in the running game and gets our O Line to the second and third levels of blocking.
