Do any of y'all think the Louisiana politicians meddled behind the scenes to get Orgeron hired, and that Alleva completely had his hands tied in the matter?

Indirectly, but the problem was that with Miles' buyout and the amount that it was going to cost to cover Jimbo's buyout at FSU TAF and the BOS did not want to be on the hook for 25-30 million.

Orgeron was the fire sale candidate

What makes you think that politicians didn't lobby heavily for Orgeron? I'm not absolving Alleva, but this is, after all, Louisiana. So you're the dumb one if you discount any political influence in the hiring of Coach O. It's not like it hasn't happened before.

Seize everyone's computers, phones and electronics at their homes and campus in the middle of the night......

Then hire crooked Mueller to investigate.....

P.S Forgot the most important thing....Put Alleva in jail in solitary without bond......

Then we will find out!!!!!11

1. Why would politicians want Orgeron hired? Unless there is some motive here, I dont know why you would think this.
2. This would be more believable had Orgeron been hired in January. Not 2 days after Herman publicly told Alleva he was going to entertain the UT offer.

The Orgeron hire was nothing more than an uninformed, impulsive, emotional hire by Alleva after his first two options fell through.

I get all of that.

It is just a dumb pointless question that can only yield speculative answers from people who have no idea what really goes on behind the scenes.

Alleva had to hurry up and quickly hire O before Herman agreed to Texas to prove it was his choice to not hire Herman. O was the man all along.

This is what happened. Alleva gave Miles the Powerball on the Arkansas Poker Game. Alleva got punked and taken BIG time. But for that massive Miles contract, LSU could have hired Jimbo.

Absolutely, but only because F. King Alexander tied Aleva's hands twice when trying to land Jimbo Fisher. FKA has been poor mouthing with the legislature for several years and doesn't want the LSU Athletic department to stray from his narrative.

how is it an intelligent response? He doesn't back anything he says up with any sort of source. You are merely taking him at his (or her!) word.

EVERY move made in Louisiana is political.
all of it.
It's why this state has the issues it has; but in the case of Edward Orgeron, things played out even more insulting than the usual.

Combine finances and an unwillingness to open up the NON-taxpayer funded checkbook (because perception is always more important that REALITY right?)along with IDENTITY POLITICS and you have the perfect storm for this ridiculous hire.

The powers that be placed their bets on two sure things - Louisianians don't care much about facts and Louisianians are very very favorable towards their own.
"One of us" combined with "taking a prudent stance against overpaying for sports when the University has so many financial issues"...and here we are at present.
