One stat that I don't think is getting enough attention.

LSU already has a total of 8 sacks between two games compared to 19 total sacks last year. I know we all notice the significant improvement on the D-line, but 8 sacks makes us tied for 5th in the nation for sacks and that's with only playing two games! Not to mention the fact that these sacks came against two big conference games. I think these coaching changes as well as the rebirth of Fournette makes this team special, and we have a legitimate chance of going all the way.

Godchaux has 3 sacks in 2 games. That number would've ranked 2nd on the team last season.

90% of LSU fans can see the huge improvement that has taken place. It's not being overlooked.

our DE's played so poorly last year. Probably had a lot to do with coaching also

DL is vastly improved.

We are now pushing and collapsing the pocket.

We are even seen good playing time from guys who haven't been heard from in years.

Coach O is making his mark.

I think like a third of the sacks last year were against Sam Houston State too.

We're causing negative plays. That's the Achilles heel of Chief's D.

Am curious about the number of solo tackles too. Haven't seen people talking about It, but the team is tackling much better this year.

MSU and Aub from last year where we couldn't make a fricking solo to save our lives jump to mind for obvious comparison.

I told someone this last night. They seem to wear down too much in 2nd half but that'll improve. Mills coming back will help a lot. I feel better about the defense.

I hate to be a negatiger but didn't Ricky Jefferson have a sack in the 5 minutes we played Mcneese State? But still it is very impressive.

I don't think they wore down at all yesterday. We were just playing a lot of backups in the second half.

Hell they had 260 total yards and 65 came on 1 busted play.

That is not "wearing down".

I think Steele's influence is there too. Saban didn't keep him around for nothing.

brick haley (and stud) leaving was the best coaching losses ever. those guys were holding us back. we now have COACHING on the DL and the OL and the difference is remarkable.
