And he doesn't make one free throw, one field goal, one assist, etc in the games they win. But he's the coach and he gets the credit. Same goes for losses. Especially losses like this.

As a coach, you have to give Jones credit for:
1) the players. LSU doesn't get close to the tournament without his recruits.
2) the defensive schemes tonight, which was clearly good enough to win.
3) a decent running game

and fault him for:
1) not enough players. One more legit player off the bench, and we're a 4 seed this year, and win a game like this by probably 20 pts.
2) overall offensive schemes; I don't know that we have any set plays to get a specific guy a shot. We are pretty predictable when it comes to a set offense.
3) better use of clock and subs. Like some folks have said, we had 3 TOs left, and it was clear the players were totally gassed. I know we love to rag on Gray, but he could have spelled TQ (or, hell, Martin or Mickey maybe), for about a 4 minute stretch at the end. I think Gray might have been able to hit some FTs too, had he came in late- especially after it was clear TQ was running on fumes... like right after the airball. Sit him down a few minutes and let him catch his breath.

Next season is all on Quarterman, in my opinion. He's for sure coming back, and he might be able to convince his fellow sophomores to stay one more year (this time with help up front).

I agree. JJ is not the elite coach LSU deserves.

sure i happens to all teams, but it happens to us a lot.

14-2 run isn't the same as 10 minutes without making a field goal.
