right

you're the worst type of fan

you do nothing but predict doom and gloom and cherish when you are right, but when you are wrong, you still get to celebrate

Miles has bosses too

Your point? If he couldn't hire a real DC because his bosses prevented it, then THAT is very telling.

Only TWO categories here boss.

He COULD have hired one, but didn't

He couldn't hire one so he hired Steele.

If the latter is because of his bosses, that's STILL very telling.

Wait? What? Now you want me to be pissed if we win?

Meanwhile, no matter how shitty we are, you'll ride down with the ship and support the guy sinking it all the way?

And I'm the bad fan?

4 or 5. It wasn't a home run hire or something, but it isn't as horrible as people make it out to be.

Because, you fricking idiot, I WANT Les Miles to succeed, because if he does, LSU succeeds.

But the signs lately--including this hire--is that we are in decline.

And if Miles hangs on two more seasons just because he is institutionalized, we may remain irrelevant as far as national championships for a decade or more.

I'm not going to ride any sinking ship. I don't give a shite about Miles.

But please, continue predicting the future.

the fact is, we as fans don't know shite, we can speculate all we want, but lets not pretend to know anything about the inner workings of the LSU program

I have no idea how LSU came about hiring Steele. I'm not even going to pretend to guess. I don't know if Miles got strong armed to hire him. I don't know if Miles personally chose him. I don't know if Miles sucked his dick when he walked in the room.

All I know is that he is LSUs new DC, and I'll choose to wait and see the defense before I melt.

Um, that's just false.

You know that either he was Miles top choice or, Miles had other guys in mind and couldn't hire them. You may not know WHY he couldn't hire them. It might've been cause they said no, or, it might've been because his bosses wouldn't back such a hire. But, you do know that ONE of those two things is reality.

And, BOTH of those are shitty realities.

If you'll note, my focus has been upon the fact that a program in LSUs situation should NEVER have to hire a guy like Steele in this situation. That's not a "prediction".

I'm 10/10 glad that 3rd and Chavis left.

I'm 7/10 happy with Steele.

Over the last several years how many recruits have come OVd LSU campus but decided to sign elsewhere? Just on the defensive side of the ball i can think of jackson (USC), Brown (bama), willis (fla), Nmengd (OLE) and a slew of other people.

Chavis couldn't close the deal. Maybe Steele can. We only need one/two impact Freshmen too turn things around. And the current talent level at LSU is extremely high with young eager tigers wanting to win Championships.

The Steele higher isn't sexy. I agree with that. But give the man a chance and quite possibly he might surprise you. One big recruit can change anything.

A good coach helps, but players make the defense.

This is BS of the highest caliber. Youre as big a Miles dick-rider as any other SP. Quit lying through your teeth.

I don't necessarily think he should be fired either....but you excuse every single thing the man does or at the very least go into super deflect mode, bashing anyone who questions the mans actions....and this hire is without a doubt a bizarre hire.
