i was talking mainly about pool play... i wasnt fortunate to be able to stay the full 10 days and attend the championship series

i just remember the LSU games being pretty bad as far as having to get their very early to find a seat.

and getting their at 6am to upgrade, standing in line for almost 7 hours, and just barely making the cut once they started to give out tickets. And still having to sit behind a freaking pole

we flew up that morning of game 1, got tickets online in the airport and booked a hotel while on a layover

stay in any hotel in the old market area, should keep you busy in between games

where did u buy tickets

the official NCAA/CWS website

the seats werent bad considering the timing of our decision to go. 1st base side, all the way down, right in front of the bullpen. I bought four tickets, but the fourth person bailed that morning, by gametime, I couldnt give away the tickets to game 1 or 2

we bought a book of GA from the grocery store $70 for 10. Was first in line for the Va & Ark games in left field entrance [around 11:00 for the 7pm games] Not a whole lot to do [3rd time in Omaha} but drink and BS with the fans in line. Cops informed us of open container law but were kool and told us to kinda hide it. One thing to remember about opening weekend, Omaha has a ton of travel ball tourneys going on and they package them with GA tickets to the game. That is why the opening weekends are full to the brim.

Went for first weekend last year, went to both LSU games (Sat & Mon) and a few other teams' games. Bought reserved tix outside of stadium from various ppl, brokers and locals w/ season tix and it wasn't too terribly costly. Would never wait in that long line in the heat to sit in outfield but yes that is a really economical way to go, just get there early.

go to barrets, far away from stadium but THE place to go. My flights are booked for this year's trip, as of last month. knock on wood

say what you want about the bleachers but that is where most of the characters where. had a hell of a good time, and most are locals.

I've been to Omaha 4 times. Always drove from Texas without tickets and the drive was about 12 hours. We’ve always stayed downtown by the Qwest Center. The Holiday Inn and Fairfield by the Qwest Center are great hotels, and the cost is about $125 - $175 per night. There are numerous hotels on Cumings Street and they are located right next to where the new stadium is being built next year. These hotels allow you to enjoy downtown Omaha and the drive to the stadium is only about 10 minutes. I’ve never paid for parking (there are secret neighborhoods to park in next to the stadium). I also know the back roads to get to and from the stadium to avoid the heavy traffic. I've also stayed at the Hilton by the Qwest Center and it is nice, but in the $200+ range per night. Last year, I stayed in Carter Lakes, Iowa, which is a misnomer because it is really downtown Omaha. There are a lot of reasonably priced hotels ($90 -- $150) in this area and it is less than a mile from downtown Omaha. These will be great hotels to stay when the new stadium opens in 2011.

I’ve never bought tickets in advance, except last year I bought the 1st and 2nd game tickets online through Ticketmaster for face value right when they went on sale (an hour after LSU and UT both won their semi-final games). The seats were really good right on the 1st base line. They sell championship game tickets different than first round tickets. Tickets for Championship Game 3 don’t go on sale until after game 2 (to see if it is necessary). I wasn’t able to buy Championship Game 3 tickets on Ticketmaster due to some computer issues, so I bought those tickets from Ticket Express, a local ticket broker. That was not a good idea because I paid too much (About $50 per ticket) and I could have easily bought face value tickets outside. You can always find reasonably priced tickets outside the stadium for any games, including early round games. Just hang out by the statute outside the home plate entrance. Omaha natives sell their unused tickets (for face value) on the day of the game through the Rossenblatt ticket box office. In prior years, I went to stand in line the morning of game day and I had to wait 3 -4 hours for reserved seats – I always got them and the seats were normally pretty good. You can walk around the tailgating sections and you can normally find tickets for most early round games. I’ve never sat in the outfield bleacher seats and I’ve never waited in that line - too hot out there, but a cheap way to go. By the way, most reserved seats are less than $25 - $30 per seat per game, so they don’t hit you too hard on ticket prices.

I hope this helps. Definitely go – it is the best and most reasonably priced of all college championship sporting events.
