Games on CBS take longer than normal due to their longer and more frequent TV timeouts. It takes away from the game for both the players and fans. Plus most fans prefer a night game for the mystique of it. This has nothing to do with "playing better" at night or whatever. Not to mention the shorter tailgating time. Like it or not people use home saturdays to gasp......Socialize.

also I would like to add many people from out of state come to all the games and when it is a 2:30 game most of the people have to burn a friday afternoon or get up very early on Saturday to make it to the game.

Yes!! I completely agree!! I think LSU should opt out of the HUGE CBS tv contract, forego the MILLIONS it gets from said contract, raise season ticket prices to around $10,000 per seat to make up for a fraction of the lost revenue and play every game at night.

As long as CBS has that SEC TV contract and LSU is doing great, LSU will be playing 2:30 games.

Sucks but it is what it is.

My statement is a frustration statement because I have season tickets and I'm out of state. It's a pain in the arse to try to get to campus early enough to actually enjoy being there before the game.

Les Miles sells ads. Arky vs MSU does NOT.

Expect LSU to be the CBS game of then week a ton as long as Les is the coach at LSU. LSU games are exciting. Period the End.

LSU just has to win out and its in a BCS game, probably Sugar, if aubies win out and even if the Aubies stumble and so do Oregon, its going to be LSU vs TCU in the champ game.

SITTING PRETTY. WIN OUT = BCS slot, maybe the big one, worst Case would be if Florida wins the SEC champ game. Because if USCe wins the SEC champ game, LSU would be invited.

Arky would need to beat LSU while Georgia and Bama both beat Auburn, and then there would be a 4 way tie,
all with 10-2

Ark
Au
Bama
LSU

Then Ark would need to be highest ranked in BCS, to go on to the SEC champ game.

So.... Ark will be back on CBS, for the LSU game.

I understand this. QUESTION- Would you rather a team SUCK and play at night and not be on tv often, Or a team that is good and plays on a Sat afternoon????

Will we have any significant night games this year?? WVU looks like the only "important" home night game we'll have this year.

I think the LSU players would rather play at night because Saturday night at tiger stadium for a big game is special.

On the tv standpoint my post earlier was just frustration. People going to the game or going to tailgate makes it much more difficult on them when its a day game. If I didn't have tickets I wouldn't mind if it's a 2:30 game.

WOW!!! LSU fans bitching because their team is one of the premier teams in the country and HAVE to play on CBS. OK lets start playing like Vandy and that will make EVERYONE happy cause we would never be on CBS then.

THIS !!!

If you are a big time program in the SEC, you WILL play a lot of 2:30 CBS games. Get the hell over it people.

On the one hand, I like the 2:30 games (hell, the 11:30 games), because it offers the chance do some tailgating, got to the game, and still have some of the day laft (as opposed to getting home the following day).

On the other hand, the lack of "big" night games detracts from LSU's tradition.

Next time the SEC contract is up for renewal, the schools should be given one "veto" of a CBS afternoon home game. So, for example, if they wanted to show the Bama-LSU game, they would have had to make it a primetime game.

Otherwise, it would have gone to ESPN, which would have spooged on itself for that game.

its about both frankly, but I think most La kids (the bulk of the players) would rather a night game. The reason the game is being moved is for money, so that has nothing to do with either the players or the fans.

been there and done that in the 90's.

I was hoping this game would get 230, but thought they'd take MSU-Arky instead, for selfish reasons . The schedule has worked in my favor so far this year on that end.
