Got a trip coming up to New Orleans in a few weeks. Trying to locate where the old Tulane Stadium was located. Isn't there some kind of plaque where Tom Dempsey kicked the 63 yarder? Tried to find it a couple of years ago, but no one seemed to know what the heck I was talking about. Thanks in advance.

I'm not certain but I want to say the old Tulane stadium was on campus and will be the site of the future stadium. Pretty sure they broke ground on it, or will sometime soon, so just look for a huge construction site on campus

My understanding is that there are dormitories where the old stadium was located. The new stadium will be constructed where the current practice facility is located.

I may be completely wrong but I grew up thinking that this was at Tad Gormley (sp?) Stadium in city park. Like I said I may be wrong but I will try to find out for you.

do not think it was "sugar bowl stadium", the game was played there, but it was tulane stadium

there is no construction going on , since the new orleans city council has not approved the new stadium because of the protest of home owners around the campus

It was located between Willow Street to the south, Ben Weiner Drive to the east, the Tulane University property line west of McAlister Drive, and the modular housing quad and the George G. “Sunny” Westfeldt Practice and Competition Facility to the north.

(North is to the top)

there really not much to see but a practice field and some modular bldgs. the new stadium is long over due and will bring a spark to the tulane program that is needed.but in good old new orleans fashion there are about a dozen or so super rich neighbors that dont want the on campus stadium built so the council women that represents that area tried to pass a bill that universities could not build any thing over a certain square footage with out special permission.the messed up part is she tried to do this with out tulane or the people knowing.this happened during this past week and is a big story down here and alot of people are pissed. https://www.nola.com/politics/index.ssf/2012/05/new_orleans_slows_tulane_unive.html

My dad played for Tulane back in the 40's. One of his teammates had his ashes scattered around the location of the old stadium. They have built a lot of buildings over the stadium site.

No it's not. The South end was a few yards from Willow Street. I went to many, many games there.

Look closely at the picture above. You can see the practice field behind the stadium where it still is today. The street between the stadium and the buildings at the bottom of the picture is Willow.

No. It was between Willow and where the Reily Center is now.
