This guy will find his way on the field. I have only heard positives about his play.

I think he ends up locking down the other guard spot by the end of the year and starts next year.

Barksdale could definitely make the move over the LT...especially if the coaches want to prepare him for the NFL and potential big money. I think he is good enough to make the switch, but will they switch him over so late in his career after being productive on the right side of the line? Only time will tell.

A lot of college teams will switch thier RT to LT after their LT leaves. I think he can and probably will once Ciron leaves. That leaves Shaw and Hardwick to fight over the RT postion IMHO.

I know he won't play for another three years or so, but I can't wait to see Josh Williford play. Out of HS he's 6'7" 345 lbs.

Do you think they put a redshirt on Hardwick?

did Shaw redshirt?

No, I do not believe he did.

LSUSports.net has him as a Sophmore.

He played three plays against Appy State. Sad he loses a year for that.

if that's really all he played, they can prob. make something up and get him a medical RS. I remember Herm playing as a true Fr in 04, and they did it with him

Could definitely happen. Sounds like he has really impressed anyone who has watched him play.

Agree with ya about the LT/RT switch over. Only time will tell as to if they decide to switch him over, or prepare someone to be a 3 year starter at LT (which has been the trend of late).

I wouldn't expect Williford to step on the field for 2 years or so. He's a project at this point, but, like you said, with his size the potential is endless. Could be All-SEC as a LG as a RS JR/RS SR. He has to really work on his footwork IMO.

It is fairly rare for LSU to take JUCO guy and then RS him. I am also anxiously awaiting the arrival of Akiem Hicks...I don't know where he will fit in the rotation, but I am expecting him to be on at least the 2-deep. He is a 6'4 300 lb. DT/DE combo player...probably similar to Tyson Jackson, but there is no film available on him so I don't really know what to expect.

I think he will find a spot on the field just as almost all JUCO guys do when they get to LSU (and LSU has had some good success with JUCO prospects in the past).

All 5 backups to the 5 positions on the OL this year are redshirt freshmen. Doesn't hurt to have a guy with experience come in.
