Go to every home game even New Mexico State.

The people who buy them every year are LSU's best supporters. They are the foundation of our athlwetic programs.

The people who buy just the games they really want to go to are bandwagoners unless they have money or job restrictions that preclude them from going to all home games.

This, it is what it is and it have an elite program we need money. Sure pay what you can afford and don't listen to those who think they are too good to pay anything to TAF...they should not pay any extra as they are special.

The point system TAF uses is great for business, not necessarily someone like you.

for full disclosure I'm in TAF, and have season tickets.

Most will tell you to donate a little (the minium) to be in TAF over several years to build points up over time. That will indeed, in the long run, give you more Lifetime Points. But you want Philanthropic points to get in on good tickets one time.

BUT....
Keeping in mind if you maintain your "level" year over year, you keep those points once earned. So with that in mind...

You get bonus points for donating over 5k, 10k, 25k, etc. So let's say you are going to invest 25k.

If you put that in over 20years at 1.5k per year you will get:
- 20pts, 1pt TAF membership per year
- 2 x 20pts, 2pts per 1k donated, 1.5k per year
- 0 bonus points
= 60pts (lower bowl)

If you do that in one year:
- 3pts x1 for the 1 year donating
- 50pts, 2pts for each 1k
- 17pts bonus for being 25k in 1 calendar year
= 70 pts (lower bowl)

there's about 12,900 current donating people/groups. God knows what pts = what ranking, TAF can guess for you when the deadlines are close.

The system is set up for return business. You get a lower lifetime ranking is better if you do it every year.

What is the price of lower bowl tickets once you have enough points to get them?

Last year about $610 per seat including the Tradition Fund for lower bowl endzone.

However, the powers that be are raising TF AND ticket prices.

First: Prepare thy anus.

quote:

If you are patient and want to spend little, donate 100 dollars to TAF every year. You should have enough points to get upper deck tickets at the end of five years.

if you are impatient, donate 5 grand this year. You may or may not get the chance at tickets, but with the addition you may get lucky.

If you donate five grand this year and five grand next year, you will likely get the chance at lower bowl tickets for 2015.

For the rest of your life, donate at least 100 bucks to taf each year you accrue a lot of points over time by donating that little.

That is a guideline. Call TAF for details. I did and they personally did a town visit and took me to lunch. They explained everything and made suggestions based upon my goals.

This is probably the most solid advice. I did this following the 2003 National Championship. Was a good time to join. However, getting into TAF with their "Fightin' Tigers" level ($5k) got me in the lower right off the bat. Now you just have to keep paying the fees every year. More donation keeps you up for aways, but they wont take your home tickets (you wont move up either though).

I joined, pay for mine in the lower endzone, then sell them to buy my current ones on the 20 SE lower.

Just gotta play the game.

Join TAF, send them a check and get on the list. Bigger the check shorter the wait. I would think there will be lots of tickets becoming available in the next two years due to many factors. Good Luck

If you are a student and have been paying the fees to get 2 pts per year in the collegiate TAF those will transfer over once you graduate to the normal TAF priority points right?

There are 15,484 active TAF accounts but only 12,027 philanthropic accounts...best to donate more to that side, since new season tickets/parking passes, are distributed via that list.
Join TAF at the $100/yr. level and put any additional $ to philanth. categories of your choice.

LSU has a train load of "fans" that are buying season tix through TAF, hence the waiting list. Now, that "fan" is often a different person than it was 10 years ago but nonetheless people are buying plenty of tix the traditional way. Like others, I suggest bringing cash to every tailgate, and you'll go to any game you want. Let the ever-increasing contingent of corporate "fans" keep feeding the TAF machine and buying tickets through the system.

That's a total crock of shite. I have neither money or job restrictions. I do have interest/entertainment restrictions however. Been there. Done that. BTDT since the 70's. The thrill is gone.

Not interested in driving four and a half hours to watch LSU play the OOC/OOS Sisters of the Poor. Would much rather see Tulane, the Ramblin Acadians of "Louisiana" or La.Tech in Tiger Stadium.

The atmosphere in the stadium is greatly declining as well and I have over 40 years of experience in that structure to compare.

LSU/LSUAD is not exactly making it easy to get in and out of the area either before and after games. They seem to be doing everything they can to make it a hassle and drive people away, despite what they publically state.

Best strategy:
Every April, deposit onto a savings account the money you'd pay to buy season tickets. Including TAF "donation". Then spend as much as necessary to buy the best available seat for each game from a ticket board on line or outside the stadium. You'll have better seats than you could get through LSU/TAF, and after 20 years you'll have enough money to put your kids ( or grandkids, or both) through college.

yes, whatever you do, do NOT give any $$$ to LSU that is for suckers, let them pay the $$ so us real fans can enjoy it for less...really??? come on, wether you can afford $100 per year or $100,000, like every other D1 prgram who wins, it costs $$$. And if "you have been there done that" good for you, move on as you are better than everyone else and DESREVE to only pay for games that you think are good games...you are better than those of us who pay full prcie to TAF and are dumb enough ot think it helps the program and the unviersoity we love... we bow to you oh great ones...I pay about 10% of my after tax dollars every year to be able to enjoy the sports I support at LSU and have been doing this for 10+ years. I am glad to be able to give back to something that has given me so much enjoyment and gave me an education where I can make enough money to give some back....yes I am preaching, but these "been there done that, hate the easy game, i buy all mine outside the stadium" people get under my skin...by the way, feel free to drop by a smaller sport and buy a ticket or two now and then, belevie me you son/daughter etc would enjoy a gym meet ($10 for two tickets) or volleyball (free most times) or tennis (free). Maybe even break down and buy a $3 coke...

I pay full price, including Tradition Fund, and give to TAF on top of that, for tickets that have been in
My family for over 50 years. So sit down and shut up, a-hole.
