Exactly who was responsible in bringing Saban to LSU? Also, who exactly reached out for Miles to come here? If I remember correctly, we had a search committee bring in Miles and I remember being shocked when he was actually chosen. I have lost faith if these will be the same group of guys that will be in charge of finding a replacement. Yea I understand Miles ended up initially being a good hire, but I do remember him being left a great deal of talent too. He was not a wholesale name at the time.

If I remember correctly, Mark Emmert played a major role in hiring Saban, Emmert understood how important that hire would be to LSU as a whole

LSU will be fine

Miles was left great talent and he maintained the talent.

Miles was an avg coach prior, so just imagine a coach with more of a niche

The fact that you were pissed about Miles and he ended up being a great hire shouldn't lead you to continue to trust yourself and not the people making the decisions. That makes no sense.

GRTiger, you have too much common sense sometimes.

I said good not great. All he did was maintain what he was left with. I was never happy with the hire. At the time, I wanted Jimbo to be promoted.

It doesn't matter what you call it. Miles had an historical tenure at LSU.

What would it look like if after having the winningest coach in LSU history come in and give us a couple SEC championships, a national championship, and an absolutely packed cupboard of stud athletes, we grab the guy you wanted back then after he cut his teeth as a HC at another school, becoming one of the best HC in the game today?

Not a bad script.

Yea his dad was right. Same guy still here with a losing record in the SEC West over the last 3 years. We would not have 1000 threads about a coaching change if it was a great hire.

It's been 11 fricking years. Are some of you actually saying "I told you so" after a decade?

They've actually been waiting 11 years to say it and would have said it after 20.

yeah because that's so easy to do in the sec west with the greatest cfb coach of all time. basically anyone could do it. look around the sec west. lsu has been the model of consistent excellence compared to the other programs minus bama.
