They could have at least followed the template of other major sports draft coverage....it looked horrendous.

I just use 10 rounds as my indicator. I always expect those to sign...any body after 10 really doesn't get enough money, IMO

For what it is worth Jason A. Churchill and Keith Law of ESPN insider think that Lee will come to LSU. Think that he is going to be tough to sign and the Dodgers aren't one to spend the kind of money he wants.

i thought it was well done.
they had Gammons on there, and the guys from Baseball America who actually know about all these kids. Cant beat that.
Harold Reynolds, who people like as well, i dont really care for him

The draft was actually kind to LSU for once.

I understand that. But since they aren't through 10 rounds yet I'm talking about the picks from today.

All in all, I think this was as good a first day as LSU could have expected:
We never expected to get DeShields or Bedrosian, so that went as expected.
Lee got drafted by a team that could be dumping the pick, and by a team that is famously cheap in the draft.
Gausman, who I expected to go late in the first, is still on the board. This doesn't necessarily mean anything, but it does give a small glimmer of hope if position means something to him.

They will do rounds 2 - 30 tomorrow, so we will know pretty quickly who goes where. Draft start tomorrow at 11 AM central.

I don't think there is any way Gausman slips as far as ZVR did last year, but he is dropping for a different reason. ZVR may not have been projected as high as Gausman originally was, but the main reason he dropped to the 6th was signability. Gausman appears to be dropping due to concerns about his stuff. Will his team be willing to pay his asking price if they have questions about his ability? With ZVR that wasn't the problem, it was just a matter of $$. Gausman also has a little extra leverage as a potential draft eligible sophomore.
He is still a longshot, but just some things to think about.

Me too...I said I thought he was a little risky going in the first round and some teams may pass on him. I was right. Comp round/ pick isn't bad for him though. He needs to get healthy and clean things up a bit. He's still a little raw b/c of the injuries.

Lee going there is good. No one thought Deshields would end up here, nor Bedrosian.

Hey guys, I'm going to leave a note on the first page but I'm going to be out of the office all day tomorrow until about 6pm. Most likely won't have a chance to update every couple of hours at all (tomorrow is going to be hectic) so everything will be updated early tomorrow evening.

Lee picked ahead of Ranaudo. Lulz

I'll be shocked is AR goes before the 2nd round.
