if you are visiting the french quarter, sandals or other opened toed shoes are your best bet for a comfortable walking experience.
also, make plans to ride the streetcar through town. tokens can be purchased when you get onboard, although be sure to bring a credit card or folding money. the operators get surly if you try to buy tokens with change.

It is a tradition to walk around Bourbon St. with your tickets to the game in your hand and drink so much you pass out in the street holding your tickets. The tickets let others know not to mess with you.
You aren't very good at this, are you?

Hurricanes are strange drinks. They have no affect on you the day that you drink them, but you will wake up and feel wonderful the next day. Drink about six real fast for best results.

Best food is at Lucky Dog. Don't pass them by. If you don't see one, just go stand in the crowd of red at most street corners. they are your brothers waiting in line.

even if you get into trouble in New Orleans, the criminal court has a special unit that runs 24/7 so you can be out on bail in time to see the game...

Well, in truth, the Orleans Parish jail is nicer than most parts of Alabama.

Make sure the cemetaries right off the Quarters. Even better, open your wallet and raise the wad of cash up in the air as you are walking into the cemetaries. The cemetary residents might not notice but you will be a quick favorite of all those living around the area

Native New Orleanians love it when you pronounce the city correctly, which is New Or-Leens. This will endear you right away.
True, and they like when you refer to it as The Big Easy. Also, call people Cher'. Make sure you pronounce it as 'Share.'

Always call them "Poor Boys," not "Po Boys." And if possible, use the black comedian making fun of how white people talk voice when ordering a "Poor Boy." That will endear you for sure.

It is common practice to leave your wallets on the bar when you go to the bathroom. This is to mark the claim to your seat for when you get back. No need to worry the bartenders are trained to keep track of this

Whatever downtown hotels you stay at, I'm sure the managers would love for you to barbecue in the bathroom.
...oh wait, that really happened during the Bayou Classic.
