I know I have prolly missed something, but what are the concerns with Sonic Sam that Pete Prisco is referring to in his article Scott has linked on Dandy's page? He mentions that Sam would be a high first rounder if not for the "off the field concerns". Just curious as to what I have missed.

Pete Prisco is one of the biggest douchebags in the media. Look up his history. Take anything he says with a grain of salt, as he is a professional troll.

He admitted to taking plays/games off. Especially against lesser opponents.

The only thing I ever heard that is affecting many team's perception of SM is the comment he made at the combine about taking plays off and not playing hard against the crap teams.

Geez! That is an ON THE FIELD concern. Also it is blown out way out of proportion.

Ok, I got it! I knew about the "taking plays off" comments. I guess I was just reading more into it when he was saying "off the field" issues. I call that "ON the field" issues. Anyway, Prisco may have it bass-ackwards!

Sam seems to play with a lot of intensity based off of emotion. I think he is going to be a steal.

If you were about to invest millions of dollars in someone, would it concern you if they told everyone they didnt give 100% effort all the time?

How about something smaller: If you were interviewing a guy for a job and he gave you the Peter response from Office Space, would you be a little concerned about his performance?

Agree 100% Prisco is a loser. But sam's interviews with some teams were concerning given how he can make off the cuff comments. I think this is mostly a team by team philosophy thing and doubt it makes a big diff as far as where he is drafted

Is it safe to say Sam has a motor that sometimes stops?

That may be a safe assumption, but I think the upside is when it's revved up, it's rollin'. Did seem like his intensity went way down post-bama. Think a lot of them did, though.

I wouldn't put too much weight into this honestly. It's one thing not to go all out when you're playing Towson, it's another to not to go out while playing... let's say the Browns.

Even though it might not be the best NFL out there, it's still a damn NFL team. You have to put effort into every game. He'll get after it each and every Sunday, so I don't think this is too much of a concern.

Hey, rosiebean! That's my word!

I think this Prisco guy loses a lot of credibility by calling "taking plays off" an off-the-field issue.
