I started a thread earlier about something that apparently touched the nerve of a few members of the Rant and then I heard someone say Randy Moss had the single greatest season ever by a rookie WR in the NFL. There is a good case to argue this. However, I argue that what ODB did in 12 games, is insane.

Even better, you go look at his game logs... LINK

He played his first game on 10.5.15 and had a decent first three games as a Giant.

First 7 Games of the 2014 Season (He was out the first 4)
10 Rec, 106 Yds, 3 TDs, 10.6 YPC, 35.3 YPG

Here is where my point is made. In just 9 games, he broke the book of what fans thought an NFL Rookie WR could do, including one of the single greatest catches ever caught with a camera.

Final 9 Games - 81 Rec, 1,199 Yds, 9 TDs, 14.8 YPC, 133.2 YPG, 4 Games with 10+ Recs, 7 Games with 100+ Yds Rec, 4 Consecutive Games Over 130 Yds Rec

Oh and of those 9 games where he tore shite up, he didn't do it against the NFL's worst defense's

Defense (Pass Defense Ranking)

Indianapolis (12th) - 8 Rec, 156 Yds
Seattle (1st) - 7 Rec, 108 Yds
49ers (5th) - 6 Rec, 93 Yds
Dallas (26th) - 10 Rec, 146 Yds, 2 TDs
Jacksonville (22nd) - 7 Rec, 90 Yds
Tennessee (15th) - 11 Rec, 130 Yds, 1 TD
Washington (24th) - 12 Rec, 143 Yds, 3 TDs
St. Louis (19th) - 8 Rec, 148 Yds, 2 TDs
Philadelphia (31st) - 12 Rec, 185 Yds, 1 TD

Odell Beckham Jr Final 2014 Stats
12 Games, 91 Rec, 1,305 Yds, 12 TDs, 14.43 YPC, 108.8 YPG

Projected Stats over 16 Games for ODB
121 Rec, 1,740 Yds, 16 TDs, 14.38 YPC, 108.8 YPG

Just a list of other rookie seasons to show you I am not crazy.

Player (Rookie Year, Team)

Randy Moss (1998, Vikings)
16 Games, 69 Rec, 1,313 Yds, 17 TDs, 19.0 YPC, 82.1 YPG

Bill Gorman (1960, Oilers) - AFL but still counts in NFL record books
14 Games, 72 Rec, 1,473 Yds, 12 TDs, 20.5 YPC, 105.2 YPG

Chris Collinsworth (1981, Bengals)
16 Games, 67 Rec, 1,009 Yds, 8 TDs, 15.1 YPC, 63.1 YPG

Anquan Boldin (2003, Cardinals)
16 Games, 101 Rec, 1,377 Yds, 8 TDs, 13.6 YPC, 86.1 YPG

Billy Howton (1952, Packers)
12 Games, 53 Rec, 1,231 Yds, 13 TDs, 23.2 YPC, 102.6 YPG

As good as he was at LSU I don't believe anyone could have predicted the rookie season he had in 2014. Outstanding

Pretty much this. Hell, when the Giants took him where they did I was shocked. I thought they reached.

Moss's was still better.

GTFO with projections. You can't project that

I thought Jarvis Landry was a better receiver @ LSU to be honest. I'm sure the stats will make me look foolish, maybe it was the big hits that made me biased. Was a big fan of Landry since we were recruiting him. No doubt ODB has had the best rookie season ever.

Moss also played opposite HOF Cris Carter while OBJ played mostly without Victor Cruz. Now Cruz is no Carter but the point is everyone knew Manning was going to OBJ and couldn't stop him. I say there are 1 and 1A.

But him and J Hill helped win me my fantasy league so that always gets me pumped up.

I had sex for the first time when I was 15 on New Years

If I would've broke my penis the next day it would've been THE GREATEST YEAR OF SEX EVER.*

I would think it's more relevant to look at %'s of their productivity to the statistics of their respective team's receiving corp.

Targeted:
Moss 24.08%
Beckham 21.70%

Receptions:
Moss 21.10%
Beckham 23.76%

Yards Rec:
Moss 29.23%
Beckham 29.19%

Rec TD:
Moss 41.46%
Beckham 40.00%

I think a lot of us felt that way. Jarvis had a pretty darn good rookie season himself.

Yes he did. ODB is just so insanely good that he completely overshadowed Landry's season. Nearly 800 yards receiving for a rookie is nothing to sneeze at.

More like saying your penis was broken the first 13 weeks of the year and you had sex everyday for the remaining 39 weeks of year. It would have been
quote:

THE GREATEST YEAR OF SEX EVER

if you could project for those first 13 weeks when you couldnt do the sex.

But Moss has Cris Carter. That's like having all that sex at the same time your wingman is a Hall of Famer. While OBJ didn't really have a great wingman. Not to mention he showed up late and still pulled almost as much tail.
