Good news is, if this program sinks back into the dark ages because of Alleva's incompetence, then I'll have a lot more free saturdays!

Glass half full kinda guy.

If Alleva doesn't go with Miles, look for more of the same old story.

LSU has backed themselves into a corner now that this is out. How are you going to get new coordinators if they think there is a chance Miles is gone after next year.

This board will always find a reason to bitch.

If Alleva did actually float the story it was a pretty genius in my opinion. The fans want Miles gone. The fans were all apathetic bc we also thought we were stuck with miles for a few more years. The worst part about firing a coach with Miles past success if the PR reaction firing a winning coach. However the local and national media didn't seem to take miles side in the matter. Then Miles lays another fricking egg at Ole Miss. So Alleva and the fans get what we want which is Miles shown the door without the media ripping it apart. All the fans and writers saying Miles should get one more year have no fricking clue how this business works. You will frick up 2 years of recruiting giving someone 'one last shot'.

It's possible Alleva doesn't know what the hell he's doing and should never have been hired.
Miles is certainly the most visible person in this "cluster", but the main fault lies with Joe Alleva and the Board of Supervisors in their haste to extend his contract because they were so afraid of returning to the Dinardo days. Careful what you wish for.

Everybody talks about how expensive the buyout will be. How expensive will it be with keeping him here? Gotta breaks some eggs to make an omelet.

Alleva "floated" the story? Have you actually read any of the stories. BOS members have been quoted talking to the media.

Some fans were really early to this party ... and, as usual, some fans are really late.

I'll just repost something I said from Saturday night

quote:

It's in Joe's hands now. He will either save face or sign his own walkin papers pending how this goes down. I predict the latter and both get replaced with Les being first. The timing of the departures will be the what determines how ugly this gets. We all know Les is stubborn and Joe is arrogant.

The more I think about it, this does to appear to be something that has been in the works for a couple years now. Joe likely felt spurned after the last extension and has been looking to make this move for a while. Either way it is time for both to move on.

this all started last year, when chavis was forced out, by the stipulation in his contract.

I might be in the minority here, but to hell with Chavis.

I'm sure Alleva had his hand in fricking that up, but I don't want any coach or coordinator to think they are more important than the program. To me, this was Chavis trying to assert his exclusivity.

What worries me is that the rumors have been flying about Les' departure for some time. Thats why we ended up with Steele, no reputable DC wanted to come here when Les was on his way out.

No, it all started between them when Les made him look like a fool by calling the Arkansas bluff.

Alleva isn't getting fired lol. Les wasn't his hire and apparently many on the BOS want Les out as well.

He's got the power to get the ball rolling, and that makes him complicit in the "cluster". His non-action would be proper cause to show him the door.

Joe should have never been sucked into the extension. No coach anywhere is worth the money they receive and a potential $15m buyout is obscene.

Tell you what, champ... If your statement means that you're not going to participate in LSU football unless they are winning, do all of us a favor and just drop off now and never come back. TIA.

More like influential LSU backers demanding that the program stay competitive instead of being run into the ground by a mediocre, mired in the past stubborn head coach.

The recent extension was a big mistake.
