I think you received so many upvotes because, yes, we LSU fans want Bama to be mediocre for at least four years before they possibly become good again.

That's not what she said. She wants them to hire someone who can do a decent job and keep Alabama competitive and then go after "the coach."

its exactly what she's saying. Hire someone not as good as someone else they can potentially hire.

Yea well what happened to Nebraska when Osborne left? They've never been the same.

They got way too impatient with Solich, imo.

This is bama football’s longest run WITHOUT a football championship since Coach Saban took the helm.

This is well known in coaching circles. No one credible wants this job right now, you want to be the coach after they fire the sacrifice coach

This statement is so ignorant that I actually feel sorry for you

As someone who lived in Alabama through the post-Bryant years:

Her thoughts are not new. That’s exactly how Ray Perkins got hired. They wanted some stability, keep the lights on and win a few games until they could figure out a plan.

That patience lasted about 3 months. Within a year there were bumper stickers everywhere that said “DIG HIM UP”. They fired Perkins, threw a brick through Curry’s office window and ultimately wore Stallings’ arse out. Then the really bad crap started happening.

Old heads will remember. That is one miserable, meddling, never-satisfied booster pool and fanbase. Nick pulled a miracle keeping them at bay. This next decade is going to be an absolute sh*t show in Tuscaloosa.

None of that happened and you and your 'friend' apparently don't understand that there is no SEC West or SEC East anymore.

As the contract extension news breaks today and through the weekend, you will see their fans slowly start to accept that Tommy Rees is going to coach them next year. But not before a last-minute burst of misguided hope that Lane Kiffin is their only hope.

I need some popcorn.

Miles undoing wasn't his inability to recruit. Unbelievably he continued to bring in all start WR but he refused to change his offensive philosophy unlike Saban who did just that. Do you realize how many Miles WR were playing in the NFL? If Miles does what Saban did he's still coaching at LSU and probably has another Natty or 2.

She said it didn't matter who they hired because Alabama fans are so unrealistic right now that it doesn't matter what the next coach accomplishes, it's never going to be enough. She added that even though the fans might not say it, the fans are still expecting Alabama to have the top recruiting class, win the West and the SEC Championship and compete for a NC every year.

I've met a considerable number of Gump fans over the years and in most cases have realized the majority of them are entitled fans.

In most cases; not all, they did not grow up in Alabama or have relations from Alabama.

Nothing but 'hangers on' type fans.

You know what I'm talking about!
