Overloading LOS is living and dying by the sword.
They're bitching about DBs in the box and difficulty with blocks, until the RBs bust through for 25 and 50yd TDs behind the hated, "obsolete" fullback.

Then it's time to glorify the RBs, when it's the OL who laid the groundwork.

Jennings starring down the primary receiver will not be good either

WhiteTiger I was primarily talking about run blocking, but the RBs trusting the hole is important as well. I understand the two freshman here, but the other two are seniors.

When the offensive live fails to push the ULM back far enough to gain a yard, something is wrong. What does this have to do with coaching? Some of the lineman are blocking no one while linebackers are penetrating at will. Are they blind are stuck in cement? And to the person who said the the running backs are not hitting the holes, what holes do you speak of? Les has his running quarterbacks. His idea of a leader. Coach Cam will have to step up and Les will have to back off for this season to be successful. The Tigers will handle Mississippi State. Hopefully the ship will get righted before the harder games come. Coach Chavis will have his guy ready to take up the slack.

Both lines....O and D....have had marginal success so far this year. If we can't paste State's line and rack up some yards like UAB did, this will be a long season. I've already embraced the "win ugly" mentality for this season......and I'm ok with that if it gets us to the promised land.

No O Line plays well against 8-9 in box. Can we emphasize that again? Enough with O Line play hasn't been great this year commentary. Teams in box bad, teams out of box good.

you have over simplified it, it is possible to run against 8 or 9 in the box sure it is more difficult but it isn't impossible. The O-line can play better so can the TE and the FB of opening some holes for the RB to run through.

Plus with dural, we will make them pay for leading that many in the box. If MSUs corners are as weak as we heard they are, they won't be able to load 9 in the box and keep the passing game in check.

This is what most people dont realize. There may be 9-10 people in the box against 8 blocking. BUT 2-3 of those defenders can easily take themselves out of the play by chosing the wrong gap. When that happens, it's an almost automatic 20+ yard gain.

This entire offense is predicated on the defense making a mistake and allowing big plays, like these long runs mentioned above, and play action 9 routes.

If you keep doing it, it'll eventually be a big play.

An occasional audible would be nice, just sayin'.

They did on several occasions. They threw the ball to Dural in the flat out of the I.

LSU actually attempted some early passing vs ULM, but the offense wasn't clicking in the first half.

Go back and watch the first half. The line was driving back the defense, but their LB were plugging the gaps.

this is the same offensive style we had for every year. les does not want to put the defense at a disadvantage or to damage the confidence of Jennings. expect more of the same as long as we are winning. if/when we lose a game we might get some changes.
