You are also talking about a guy that told Corey Raymond if he got on the plane to interview with LSU, don't come back.

Not sure if Nebraska will do better, but they can surely stay as competitive as they have been against their better opponents.

Absolutely. Look how awesome they did with their Bill Callahan hire after Solich.

also look at Nebraskas history of coaches...their "resolve" set them on a long tailspin of mediocrity.

This. Their resolve dropped them out of national relevance.

So Nebraska can stay competitive, but LSU wouldnt if we fired Miles?

I don't think that CLM Wants to be average. He just doesn't know how to improve himself. I think that after doing something for 10 years and being more successful than you had been Oklahoma State, it's hard to even consider changing anything. He may honestly feel that it's not broken but until he sees it from a fans perspective he has no reason to look at himself

What leads you to draw this conclusion from my statements in this thread?

Did Bill Callahan coach in the Big 10?

I really don't remember, but seems unlikely.

Their geographic location and, like someone else said, TV is the reason for their downfall. When I was coming up Notre Dame and Nebraska were the 2 teams you would see every weekend regardless of what else was going on. It's hard to let go of the glory days. I still think that I can kick it like I could when I was 21 but I can't.

Nebraska was 1 Heisman candidate performance play from losing to McNeese at home.

I just don't quite understand why anyone would bother to question NE's move here.

I have zero faith in Joe Alleva to go out and hire a decent coach, since he has never done that.

I'm with you here, but now you can hire a consulting firm to help him out. Alleva should not be allowed to make any decision on his own

Firing solich was dumber than firing Pelini. Pelinis blackshirts were embarrassed routinely

It's funny that people think that AD's at major programs like LSU have any REAL say in hiring/firing the football coach.

Very nice attitude. If you are going to do something do it to your ultimate ability.

He was great against shitty opponents and bad against the ones that mattered. Nothing fishy about it. Pelini is about as overrated as they come.
