Now I understand the Hawthorne Bashers

I had to listen to the Vandy 2nd inning on the radio, I would have been better off reading tea leaves than trying to get information from Hawthorne. He went the whole half inning without giving a score, without saying who was on which base, when Vandy got a hit I had no idea which base the other runners advanced to, he rambles on as if the game doesn't matter. I remember Vince Scully saying he kept an egg timer in front of him, he made sure to give the whole game setup, balls-strikes-outs-score-runners, everytime it ran down. Maybe I should send the dummy an egg timer.
I rarely have to listen to an LSU event on the radio, I won't bother in the future.

He was probably just enjoying a beautiful day at the ball park. I know we were all outside with the big screen set up eating boudin and crawfish. Sorry you couldn't watch it on TV.

I know Jim isn't the best but you should listen to others. Listened to te ACC champ on the way up. The guy was terrible.

I almost never bash his play by play call, when I do, I'm basically just egging on the bashes here on td.com.
What gets me about Hawthorne is his commentary after the play. He constantly has to be corrected by his color man.

That's my problem with him as well. Football is the same. You can't follow the game listening to him. He's so concerned with listening to himself talk he doesn't paint a picture as to what's going on during the game.

Having satellite radio in my car has exposed me to some awful broadcasters in the last couple of years. The Texas A&M guy sucks at at least 2 sports...football and baseball.

Two pitches in a row and all he said was " you've got to be kidding me". Nothing else. What the frick do I do with that? Was it a strike and it looked outside? Was it a ball and it was down the middle? Did he swing and not get called a strike? Did a monkey start fricking the umpire mid pitch? The guy should just do women's sports so he can feel entitled and I don't have to listen.
