The biggest worry I had about this offseason for the program wasn't recruiting, but, how soon we would be able to completely overcome the hangover of the Jan. 9 game. I was worried that even once our players got over the loss, the morale and aura in and around the program would still have a negative feel to it.

This, to me, is actually quite significant, to know that Jan. 9 is behind us, and we are moving forward toward next year with some type of positive to get us in the right state of mind to begin building towards next season.

What do you mean? All the players hate Miles and think he sucks and doesn't play the right QB and overrides his OC and ruins LSU FOOTBALL AND THAT'S WHY WE"VE BEEN SO TERRIBLE FOR THE PAST 4 YEARS!!!!

So you're telling me they all didn't meet with Miles to tell him the were transferring? Or maybe they had a meeting to pick QB sides for the future so they will know who to fight in the locker room next year. It has to be one of these 2 according to all the emails and facebook statuses going around.

You said the one on one meetings with Les Miles don't happen very often. You sure about that? I knew 2 people on 2 different teams (neither football players) at LSU and both had what they called "exit meetings" at the end of every year with their head coaches. Kind of a wrap up and let you know if you acieved what they wanted out of you or if you need to step it up in certain areas and give you plans for off season workouts and stuff.

Not that it matters, but I figured football players would be no exception. Either way, it was hard to see such a great season end like that, but it was still a great overall season and I am very positive for next year.

Sounds like the team is ready to move on. Hey here's an idea. Why don't we do the same?

Honestly I don't know, but I was under the impression the coach met with the players too. The reason I say this is because a good friend of mine played a little college football. Nothing big, but at a I-AA school. He told me that they always met with the coach after the season was over.

Anyway, great to hear about the players mood!

What good would that do? Unless of course you had someone nearby to translate it into stupid so you could understand.

Not really.

I would just like to see our coaches not have to learn from their own mistakes. I know Miles improved our clock management, but only after it cost us the Ole Miss game. In the BCS he learned that he may need to be better prepared and be willing to change the script on the fly.

Maybe he is now further up his learning curve. I hope so, but I am not that confident.

CLM did the absolute right thing by doing this one on ones to keep the team moving in positive direction. It will be a building block for this coming season.

This was a good season that could have been really special. I am sure the players knew the coaches did not give them a fighting chance to close out the season making history. What else can you do? You have to move forward. No more JJ.
