would we save money if we hired him as AD?

After years of long days, few days off and high pressure, if I were Miles I'd take a year off, maybe do a little light ESPN Gameday or SEC Nation on Saturdays and recharge my batteries.
Big time football coaching is almost designed to burn out coaches.

I have a want for Miles as Public Relations Spokesman, just for the sound bites.

Lol, If Les is this stubborn to makes changes on offense, then think about LSU in future with his mentality. LSU could be posting
6-6, 6-6, 6-6, and 6-6 for the next four years and Les Miles would never fire the coach.
However, LSU hired Ed Orgeron as new head coach anyways. LSU is fricked already. It won't make much more difference anyways. That being said who gives a shite. It's like watching a sinking ship and people keep trying to avoid the water when the inevitable is near.

bullshite.
Miles recruited too welk to ever have multiple 6 loss seasons let alone 4 in a row. It's like you have convinced yourselves that we really have been a shitty program the last 5 years.

hire Leslie back as AD?
Based on his track record of making stellar hires and sticking with them regardless of performance?

I think coach O was a huge risk but Alleva is banking on being able to revolutionize the allocation of coaches salaries - in other words, being able to outbid other suitors for best coordinators because he has saved money on the head coach. I'll admit that the results so far are promising. I'd wait and see on Alleva. He might emerge from this whole thing looking like an innovator.

Oh hell no. Alleva gave Miles more chances to evolve from an offense that everyone at home, in the stands, and on the field knew exactly what they were going to do on every play and bring it into the 21st century.
And as someone who has watched Pitt beat teams with much better talent and depth; I Love the Canada hire.

I could see Miles replacing Johnny Jones with Peveto. the only hire that would make our bball program worse.

You have no clue what has been offering to miles.

but my thought a year ago was to move Alleva and let Miles retire upwards to AD. I think he's been around long enough as a head coach to know how a successful athletic department should be run, and I imagine he has good connections.
Miles has no qualifications to be an AD. Generally, when you see a coach promoted to AD (Skip Bertman, Ray Tanner), they have more than just being successful coaches on their resumes. Bertman didn't just build LSU baseball being good at coaching baseball. Sure, that did help, but he was masterful at knowing how to market a program to garner interest from the fans. Same with Ray Tanner. They both built brands. Tanner also has a masters degree in public administration and public affairs, as does Skip Bertman. Miles is a football coach. He didn't build anything, he just did a great job and continuing the success that was built before him. I appreciate what he did and that we didn't tank after Saban left, but it's time we all move on.
I'll put it to you like this, an AD has to be much more diplomatic and know how to speak to big wigs in the university, as well as boosters and other presidents and ADs across the conference than Miles is likely capable of doing.
