I really didn't think we would be this bad on D prior to the season. It was only after watching the first 4 games that it became obvious. And yes, it was obvious. We get pushed around up front, we don't create QB pressure let alone sacks and we can't cover anyone.

I was actually using this as a symptom of a deficient defense talent wise. You're right, he is not the only problem.
For example, Mills is not a newcomer. He was a starter last year but he is totally out of his depth out there.
There are absolutely ZERO playmakers on defense. None!
A coach can usually motivate a kid by making them ride the pine. We simply don't have enough young talent who are ready for playing time to replace what we have.

This was long overdue and much needed. Mallory seemed to be a very good DB position coach. I'm guessing he a big part in recruiting PP7 and Mo.
