13 was an exciting offense. I think cam can call a good offense, but without a QB who can execute your system you won't be successful.

JJ sucked

JJ sucked in 2010.
In 2009 JJ had 17 tds -1 int 61 % compl and a 137.8 qb rating (HIGHER THAN FLYNN'S QB RATING IN 2007
In 2011 JJ had 7tds-1 int 63 % completion and a 138 qb rating along with 300 yards rushing & 3 tds. JJwas not as bad as this board makes him out to be.

Mett spent 3 year at lsu. Mett was developed at lsu. He got far better after 2012. Poster act like Mett was groomed by Richt and its just not true. Mett enrolled a UGA in the fall of 2009 and was dismissed in april of 2010. Mett had 5 months of practice at UGA and 3 years at lsu.
Every single player on tge 2007 roster spent more time with Miles than Saban. Flynn had 3 years under Miles.

Since Stud was named OC, the offense has significantly changed to a more basic, predictable, elementary scheme regardless of coordinator

No it hasnt. Our offense is far more complex than oregon and ohio states. Hell, ohio state run the same play (read option) 60 % of the time.
Now if you want to say our playcalling was vanilla in 2014 then ok, but our scheme isnt simple. The prostyle offense is by far the most complex offense in all of football.

Stats stats blah blah blah. Go back and watch those years he wasn't horrible in 2009. 2011, our offense went from great with good play at QB to needing special teams to bail us out to being shutout in the championship. A punter could have put up good stats with that o-line in 2011.

No doubt. But it was also very basic and somewhat predictable. This has continued to be a problem

I also agree. I just wish we would help our QBs more with the play calling. Less predictability equals less pressure on a young QB's shoulders

Oregon is actually basic with some wrinkles. Running a good offense isn't about out confusing the opponent. Our offense looked basic because we had no QB play.

We will be better on offense I think, if our o-line doesn't take a major step back.

Im going to respectfully disagree.

Our entire passing game in 2012-2014 was pretty much the basic passing route tree with 3/5 step drops & play action. (Hitch, slant, 9 route, out route, etc.) our only special route was the sluggo

Most high schools run this

We should consider converting a tight end to QB. We need a 6'5" freight train to run our offense. If you can call what run an offense.

Agree with most of your thoughts. But OSU didn't really play "wide open". They ran the ball a ton and right between the tackles.

LSU doesn't need to open it up as much as they need to use less tight ends in the box (who don't get targets anyway) and put a few more WRs outside to take a few men out of the box.

That said, LSUs system should in theory mask the inexperienced QB--i.e. Run the ball, give the QB a big deep first look and an option running short underneath as a safety valve, but Jennings just couldn't make those short throws.
