ULL is a good football team with good talent and well coached. LSU has better talent for the most part and is deep. The difference in college football today with 85 scholarships is that mid majors may have one deep talent a some positions but the big boys have three deep at all of them. Look for some good play for a half and then see attrition take over. LSU 38 ULL 13

When does LSU play the Cajuns?

ULM to wear the pesky Maroon Unis

I thought I heard somewhere that we will be wearing purple uniforms for this game. Is this true? If so, wouldn't purple and maroon look too much alike? Aside from that concern, I have no worries about what uniform they wear.

quote:

From what I have heard they are confident that they can scare us and play us well into the 2nd half.

No surprise there. I'm sure every team goes into every game confident that they can win, let alone play well into the 2nd half.

quote:

Something feels a little different since they got drilled by us 51-0 in 2010.

Without specifics, it's hard to address what you're saying here. Obviously, both teams will be different to the teams the schools fielded four years ago. That doesn't mean the outcome will be any different, although it may well be.

quote:

Don't sleep on the Indian

They're the War Hawks, and have been for quite a long time. And yes, it's never a good idea to "sleep on" an opponent, no matter who it is.

quote:

Just ask Diarse about the talent in that area

No one who follows football needs to be reminded that there are many great and talented players in northeast Louisiana. LSU and other schools have been recruiting that area hard for years. I'm sure ULM has good football players, like any other FBS college team, but I doubt they are as good as LSU's.

quote:

It isn't a shocker they have beaten Arky, Bama and hell almost beat Auburn.... Ok maybe it's a little bit of a shocker....

Considering the state that those teams were in at the time ULM beat them (or almost beat them), the only one that is surprising is probably the win over Alabama in 2007. Arky was horrible in 2012 (although no one knew it at the time that game was played), as was Auburn.

In addition to those games you mention, ULM has also beaten Wake Forest already this year, and gave Baylor a very tough game a couple of years ago. Everyone from Louisiana should be proud of how well the War Hawks have performed against some larger programs over the last few years. But, with all due respect for the job they've done with the resources at their disposal, LSU is a much tougher challenge for them than any of those other teams were.

quote:

If they wear those uniforms I fear that they may find the ability to challenge us and play up to our level. What y'all think?

I think that how they or LSU perform on Saturday night will have absolutely zero to do with what uniforms they wear.

quote:

Besides the talent. Are you somewhat alarmed?

Besides the talent? What does that mean? Aside from the fact that we have a much better team, am I alarmed? Um, no. The fact that we have more talent and a better team doesn't alarm me, obviously. What else is there besides the quality of the teams to alarm me?

quote:

This school has been there and done that against SEC talent.

The worst player on Vanderbilt's team is "SEC talent". It's a pretty expansive term. Beating or almost beating a few SEC teams at the bottom of the league standings does not mean they are on the level with LSU, or even close.

quote:

I think we pay them over 800K to come play us. Let's hope they do not take our season as well. As this is a look ahead game with Moo State coming up on the schedule. Even a close game and not a loss would be a bit of a laugher.

Your use of the first person with reference to LSU is a bit perplexing, as I can't imagine an LSU fan would feel like laughing if ULM played us a close game. I don't recall a lot of laughing when we only beat La. Tech by 8 a few years ago. If they do play us close, I'll have respect for them, as I do already, but I won't be laughing. As for being a "look ahead" game, as much as I respect Miss. St., and I do, I'd be surprised if we overlooked ULM because of them. Overconfidence is always a concern when you play a team that is a big underdog, and I'm not claiming we'll be immune from it tomorrow night, but Mississippi State probably won't be the reason, if it happens.

I don't know Bama's excuse, but that was the year of Johnell at Arky. That same year they almost beat an Auburn team which later fired its head coach. Those weren't exactly solid teams they beat up on.

Pretty sure I remember this exact same thing being said about Southeastern's baseball team. They were supposed to beat us in the regional because of the uniforms they wore, and we all know how that worked out.

For the record ,every ULM fan is a LSU fan.The Tigers cherry pick the area,as it should be, but thier are still some good athletes left for Tech and ULM. It is a very valuable recruiting area for the Tigers. They hate bama too

I think the NCAA allows both teams to wear dark now if they agree to it. Several teams asked for the rule to be relaxed because of traditions in rival games. USC and UCLA have both worn their home jersey recently, and I think Alabama and Tennessee may have.

THE University of Louisiana Warhawks are not going to beat LSU but they will be a better quality opponent than SHSU and will beat UL-L later this season...they did beat Wake Forest but they suck again...

It was a hell of a game until the 8th inning, when they fell apart. There was some serious melting in the game thread prior to the comeback.

If LSU wears purple, then the visiting team has to wear white. The refs will not allow a maroon team vs a purple team.
