Well history is definitely not on our side when cleaning house and starting with an all new coaching staff.. at least there is an actual sample size.. Texas, Tennessee, USC, penn state have all failed big time when cleaning house and hiring a flavor of the month coach.

correct

firing a successful, entrenched coach is always a gamble

because LSU should hire the best candidate

momentum only last so long

Edit: wrong quote. Referring to Os coaches and academics at ole miss.

It's mind boggling that our simple arse fan base does not get this. His problems at ole miss weren't just that he micro managed. There's more to being a head coach then getting guys to play their heart out .

The last time bebe coached elsewhere(which was in our own division no less), we were also starting off with a brand new staff.

LSU did this:

went 34-6(19-5)
1 national title
1 sec title
Sugar bowl win

I think we would be ok

Yep, I wonder how many LSU fans have lambasted Bama for hiring Sark because of his alcohol problems. Or made fun of Sumlin for his struggles. I wonder if they realize Orgeron was fired from Miami for an alcohol related arrest.

Just because he's better than Miles doesnt mean he's any good. If LSU wants to be elite again, we need an elite coach. An x's and o's tactician, that can recruit and also overcome talent differences.

There are a lot of really good coaches that would jump at a chance to coach LSU.

Even if we lose to Bama, but it is very close and he wins out, I still think we should sign him, maybe bring in a top flight OC.

using the rationale to keep O, why would you not also use the same rationale to keep Ensminger?

if O "earned" the HC job, why wouldn't Ensminger have earned the OC job?

Wrong. The last time he coached was in the Pac12 and went 6-2 after USC fired Lame Kiffin. Now he is 3-0 following another coaching blunder. Ole Miss was a very long time ago when that program sucked top to bottom.
If he sucks so bad then you need to understand the chart in the following link stats at LSU
You are a Negative reviews and NegaO

ABSOLUTELY!!

If he earns the job then give it to the man. He has been an OC two or three times before and it would notlook bad at all.

CSE would have earned it just asmuch or even more than ceo by turning that O around instantly this year.

You are wrong. Ole Miss had been successful under Cutcliffe before Orgeron came in. He had the program headed in the right direction and should never have been fired. He had a sour relationship with the AD and would not fire certain assistants is why he was fired. OM was not a dumpster fire when O took over. It was when he left.

Everyone needs to understand this hire is for the long term of the program.

Short term, losing O and Aranda would be a huge blow. Asking players to learn another new defense will result in more growing pains next year.

The thing that impresses me so far under O is he's managing the staff and game and is not afraid to discipline the players as well even though he is not assured of anything beyond A&M.

i like how assistants value almost always double under saban..shouldnt the same apply to pete carroll? the dynamic between carroll's style and sabans is intriguing
