providing he stil does an excellent job ...and we pass on him. another school...more then likely a power 5 school..will pick him up as head coach. and sets the world on firre. he learned under the 2 most feared football regimes in history and is a legit top 5...top 3 recruiter. maybe only behind saban. signs a nice contract and gives lsu the finger.

my fear is some lsu faithful think it makes u look weak not hiring a big name coach. but he will be before its all said and done.

if we beat bama...im for signing him up. maybe a 2 year deal. close out anothe top 5 recruiting class. its OBVIOUS the man can coach light years better then miles...how bad could he ACTUALLY do with this much talent? guarnteed 10 wins a year.

dont really know what scenario #1 is...prolly bama getting in playoffs over sec champs lsu lol. god this place would BURN

How did LSU get so fortunate? What other school in the entire country is guaranteed 10 wins a year regardless of coaching?

probably...FINALLY we see why a barely mentioned TE coach was ALWAYS kept on staff. i always wondered. the man can flat coach .

however....you could get someone as good or better that is a better recruiter.

No other P5 school has shown the slightest interest in O since his USC tenure ended. There is absolutely no guarantee he would end up as a head coach anywhere else if LSU doesn't hire him.

We'd run out of space on the internet trying to list the P5 schools in line to hire Coach O right now (we wouldn't).

But we don't know that for sure do we. Look if this staff wins out or goes 4-1, I think they should stat together. I think 4-1 is likely I don't think we have the horses up front to beat the gumps. Hell it will be tough to win on the road in College station.

We can't think like that.
If LSU continues to get better then we can pretty much pick any coach that fits our agenda.
Also if Coach O wins out or wins all but 1, LSU would be stupid to jump the gun next year on a new coach.
You keep what makes you a better team until you start losing, then you make a move.
No coach is guaranteed to make LSU unbeatable.

Coach O and Aranda has motivated these guys to play like they should.
You don't fix something until it's broken.

it really isn't

O simply does not have the qualifications necessary for a job like LSU

any hiring of O would simply be based off feel good emotions

could O become a great coach? possibly, but history is not on his side

BeBe has been a coach for 30 years. 30 years. He has been a DL coach for almost all of those. He was a head coach once. It was a train wreck. And you're worried that he will go on from LSU and turn into Saban?????

Well history is definitely not on our side when cleaning house and starting with an all new coaching staff.. at least there is an actual sample size.. Texas, Tennessee, USC, penn state have all failed big time when cleaning house and hiring a flavor of the month coach. Why not atleast retain coach o and keep some of the momentum?

You do realize Orgeron had a terrible track record of hiring low character asst coaches at OM. He had to fire two for alcohol related arrests before they ever coached a game at OM. He also had a very poor academic culture there. These things follow you around in coaching circles. Building and maintaining a successful program is a lot more than what shows on the field.
