So you think an MLB team's evaluation of him is good enough to warrant a draft spot that pays enough to leave LSU but you don't think LSU believes he has the talent to warrant a roster spot?

When the draft was still 40 rounds and there were still two additional layers of minor leagues, there could be a rebuttal to this. It used to happen regularly that guys would get a soft push out of a program into pro ball so their replacement could start playing.
But orgs now have less spots to play with and can't just grab 20 non-prospects a year and hold onto them for 5 years.
