Thanks for posting. Great to hear he's getting another chance, especially after what he's been through. Hope he makes it and gets a chance at the NFL down the line.

This had me curious about what happened with Brandon Winey. Had no idea the grand jury chose not to indict. Totally missed that.

Good to hear...people read that article and they're gonna be looking for Sulphur Los Angeles though...

quote:

In the blink of an eye and the flash of a gunshot, the Louisiana linebacker quickly went from working his way towards an NFL dream to wondering what the future held when he was shot in the abdomen by Brandon Winey, a then 36-year-old former LSU Tigers offensive lineman, inside a Sulphur, L.A., apartment.

Stupid folks...only one period in a state abbreviation...if any at all.

No period, but I agree with your point.

Glad he recovered so well and is going for it. I always thought he'd be a good one.

What did he end up getting charged with? There's absolutely no way that you can shoot someone and not get charged with anything

grand jury came back with a no bill, so he wasn't formally charged with anything. they ruled it was self defense. read the article i linked. apparently tahj jones had brass knuckle (or regularly carried them and was reasonably thought to have them that night) and was trespassing when shot. the district attorney seemed to think the grand jury's decision was appropriate as well.

Hope he grows up while in Canada. A reputation for brass knuckles equals a thug. Glad he isn't playing for the Ravens in the NFL. Grow up Tahj and be a positive influence instead of some guy with a reputation of hitting people with brass knuckles or the next gunshot will be your last.
