Meh....I want to believe you but it's kind of hard. We currently are in limbo about who will be QB1. Is JD5 staying or declaring for the draft? Our RB's were average this year, not expecting much improvement next year. I think we'll be ok at WR but again, depends on who will be QB1.

Will Polian be replaced? Do we find a guy that can actually field punts?

We currently have no secondary. Recruits will need time to transition to the college level, transfers will need time to learn the system and gel. Hopefully Perkins continue to improve, he struggled with stopping the run and struggled even more in pass coverage. We also need Smith to fully recover and be the stopper we think he is.

Basically, there are a lot of questions. I keep seeing guys entering the portal and that's not a positive for a team that already had no depth. Right now, the coaches are expected to have a top 5 recruiting class, that's all you can ask for. The transfer portal has a lot of players and hopefully we can get some guys with talent and experience that can make an impact next year.

I would feel a lot better if I started seeing transfer portal guys coming in and not just leaving out.

I think another 4 loss year would be good with what we have going into the season, with potential to be in the conversation going into the Alabama game at 7-1.

If we can split bama, Florida, Georgia, aTm that will put us at 9-3.

Win a game or two we shouldn’t could potentially put us at 10-2. Another great year setting up for a real run in 2024

Shouldn't we get to play Mizzou at home since we had to play them away for our home game during *covid year?

Schedule is ridiculously easy for an SEC schedule. Beat Florida State and they definitely can go on a nice run

with this schedule.
There is absolutely no way to know how tough our schedule is or will be next year. Like every year teams change drastically from 1 year to the next.

The fact that people are too stupid to comprehend this makes me weep for humanity. We don’t know who’s gonna be on OUR team next year, much less anybody else’s. And injuries happen. Remember when we lost who was gonna be our best defensive player went out about 4 plays into his 1st drive? Hendon Hooker? To think we’ve got our schedule pegged on December 13th with the most unprecedented personnel changes in college football history is laughably absurd.

Next year is the year, 2023 is an odd year and we win NC’s in odd numbered years

We do not HAVE to be in New Orleans. We have never played anywhere else, BUT NRG in Houston (2023) is practically a home game too

How so? Our toughest 3 games are all on the road. Bama, FSU & Ole Miss

Mostly true. From a 30,000ft view…I look at who has a proven QB coming back or if they’re Alabama. Lol
FSU & Ole Miss are the only 2 decent teams that return their QB. Travis is a beast, Dart is pretty good, Bama will somehow have a Heisman candidate there

Does bama have a QB lined up? Ole back up doesn't fit their mold

Although they may get someone out of the portal, Bama's issue is that they are having a lot of younger guys hit the portal. They currently have 4 WRs in the portal and 4 OL. They aren't stockpiling the experienced depth they once killed teams with. You can obviously get a lot of great talent out of the portal, but experienced talent with great chemistry that knows your system is what leads to dominant programs.

If JD5 stays he has to learn to sling it which I'm not sure he can

Only 3 QBs in LSU history have had a season with over 3500 yards. JD is one of them.

He needs to take the leap to another position or to another team. 4 years of being scared to throw down field should be enough.

Only 3 QBs took more sacks this season in all of college football. Offense was very unproductive too often against FSU, Auburn, Ark, Texas A&M, and UGA. This guy is incapable of improvement and there will be no chance of a playoff with him at QB.

How many QBs had a pretty awful and young OLine for a big part of the season? They did show a lot of improvement throughout the season, but the line was not a strong point. I do expect it to be a stronger position next season.

Your statement about him not being capable of improving shows a closed mind and it is useless to show you counterpoints that would prove otherwise. Next season will show us if you are right or not.
