I just can't see this thing adding over 10,000 to the current capacity.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

Maybe the publicly released images are all a ruse and the visitor seats on top will actually cover the Lego blocks?!?!?

How dare you impune the integrity of the LSUAD by calling those structures Lego blocks.

They look more like FEMA trailers.

Awesome design process there LSUAD. Destroy the aesthetics of your new trillion dollar expansion by adding cheap and tacky structures to the top of it all because the negligent architects didn't integrate it all into the guts.

It sure doesn't look like that new addition could possibly hold that many. And I agree 100% on the abomination of those grey 'blocks' on the top. What they heck are those- housing for A/C other mechanical equipment? If so, that is beyond bad design.

We have had record crowds as large as 96,000 in the current stadium. This addition can easily put 6-7,000 more people, when adding for the Suites.

The South Endzone lower bowl structure seats 24,000. That is roughly 12,000 for upper and lower. I can definitely see getting about 10,000 seats in that new uppper deck design.

They did say there would be standing room only tickets available. Guess where they will be standing? Yep, on that open concourse with the concessions and restrooms in the background. I think it's a fair trade-off.

They could have put more seats in front and above that concourse (thus hiding the structures) for more capacity for the big games but for the rest of the games those extra empty seats would be very noticeable as opposed to the equivalent capacity with standing room only areas that won't look so empty for the lesser games. These are the kind of considerations that lsu admin and architects take into account when designing the new expansion. People would complain either way. Empty seats or visible infrastructure.

Can we all agree, that deep down what we secretly want is a chance to have 103,000 of us boozed up, late on a Sat night, dominating an SEC opponent, and to sing STTDB as Neck is booming from the NEZ?

Not saying it will, but if you drive by it and look at it in person, it looks like it can.
